The more I think about it, I agree with you, Rabies, FC and Grizzly are not
the way to go. I'm still undecided between FR and Wolf though. At L85 I'll
have 27 points to use. Wolf gives IAS and AR, while FR gives leech, damage,
AR and R/W speed. IAS is only good up to a point, and FR gives 5%/lvl less
AR but 5% more damage/lvl. I suppose I have to decide on my end game weapon,
then put enough points in Wolf to max my speed, then put the balance in FR.
Sound reasonable?

Oath might be a good choice. I just need to find a nice ethereal base item.
A Scourge will get me to 5 frame Fury and let me use a shield, while a
Decapitator or Glorious Axe will hit 6 frames without. In either case I
won't need any more points in Wolf to hit those BPs. The raw damage of
either of those big Axes will top an UP'd Ribcracker, but the CB on a
Cracker will win out. Damn, I was hoping to try something new with this
Wolf. Hmmm.
> Duress is a good choice.
Duress and GT's will give me 40% CB, that might be enough using an Oath if I
can get my To Hit high enough.

If I can't use a Torch that'll certainly force me to lean towards using a
shield, to get enough resists. And the Skill and Ability loss will also
really hurt.
I'm planning on using this guy for party use, so Salvation should be
available to mostly counter Mephy's Conviction.

It's been way to long for me to be sure and the tool tips were never
that useful, but I'd always figured a 1 point bear with lots of points
in one of the wolves (Not sure which) to buff it's life would be more
useful that a max bear, which would do more damage but have a pile
less life. Not that I ever got around to making a werewolf like that
myself so can't say how it'd work for sure.

I wondered about this so I tried a druid torch on my zon with her botd bow,
firestorms and poison novas going off all the time, with no lag and no
kicks, though that was just normal hell questing not UT. I also used the
same druid torch when I quested my freezalot thru hell, there it was with a
crescent moon popping static field almost once per second or so.
When running tours down to baal in norm, my es/fo sorc generally sees lag
show up when a wind druid pops in or very seldom when a necro does (not all
necros cause it, so I don't really believe in necros causing lag). I think
it is more a case of someone in the game having a slow connection or slow
computer and they lag out the game for the rest of the party. If everyone is
updating fast enough then the server doesn't lag.
