Been pretty busy lately, I've only been home 6 days in about the last 10
weeks. Thanks to Orion for keeping track of my accounts, and burning in some
new mules for me when I got called away so suddenly. And I'm sorry I didn't
have the time to meet you for a beer while I was in your area. Guess I owe
you double.
So after being D2 free for so long I tried to play a little last night. But
I couldn't get into a game with any of my characters. I could make it to a
chat channel, but every time I tried to create or join a game I got FTJG. Is
there some new anti cheat measure that Blizzard implemented in their usual
hackneyed manner that's screwing the normal players again? It was pretty
annoying, but I was able to join a game later in the evening, of course just
as I was ready to quit for the evening.
So I ended up playing my SP septuvarate a bit. They were all at the
beginning of A4 when I left, so I played the Sorc through A4 and 5. Got her
to Guardian at L45. She's a melee Enchantress, running with 192/312 MF.
So is anyone still around on WHCL? Orion, Ruben, Cinna, Roy, Wil, Chaliban?
It'd be good to play some good co-op games again.
Lots of spam to wade through, I see the Rev is still waging his war against
Mickey. Just scanned the rest of the posts. Did I miss any good flame wars?

Nope, no new anti-cheat measure, just West being its usual screwed-up self.
I think they've migrated down to 386s now. ;)

Welcome back. I haven't been playing HC since last ladder, (other than a
try-out character who got to level 18 or so) as you noted, the servers are
too unpredictable now.

Yeah, I knew you reverted to SC for the last ladder season, that's why I
didn't mention you. But if you do decide to venture back into HC ...
But really, though the servers have been problematic throughout this season,
I've only lost one character, a small fry, to something beyond my control.
Maybe it was all those years playing HC on a dial up connection that taught
me how to survive.

Hi Mark.
I still haunt USWHCL, but it's been pretty lonely lately. Wil took a
vacation in Wisconsin after graduating, and though he's back from vacation
he's not been back on. He did send me e-mail saying he'd be back soon, but
I know now he's graduated he needs to get a job for the summer, so....
Hope to run into you in an agdhc game.
Best,
Mark.

While I'll admit that anyone can make a mistake once, to go on making
the same lethal errors century after century seems to me nothing short
of deliberate.--V.
