Mickey - 24 Nov 2005 04:55 GMT As often happens when a ladder is reset, ppl make new accounts which then need to be tied to their existing account for the purpose of having ye old channel cop recognize them. As such, I would like to get a list of people, the accounts they are using, and whether or not they would like the bot to show them on a !players command. Before replying directly to this post, please check and see what the last reply was an append yours to it, so that I do not have to spelunk though posts trying to build a cogent list.
Thank you for your cooperation,
The Management. :)

What are the commands that the channelcop responds too? I know nothing about this system, I just pop in there now and then.
Thanks,

For now, the Channel_Cop is offline, and his backup, MasterAtArms is in control whilst I do this rebuild. I am also upgrading the emulator, which is an ENORMOUS task, and one which I have put of for QUITE long enough. For those that are knew or have forgotten, the bot runs on my Alpha server, which is an enormous OS/2 Merlin server. It has 4 processors,11.25 GHz each, 1.8 Tbytes of storage (being upgraded to 9 Tbytes next week), 4 gig of ram and 4 enormous caches. The bot, perforce, runs in a windows shell, which is currently WIN-98SE. By the time I am done with this upgrade, the shell will be Win-XP/PRO, which I am told is as stable as a Helium atom.

Windows 2000 is slightly more stable IMHO, but it doesn't seem to like the latest and greatest hardware very much. <g>

I think each has its good points and bad points, really. Win2K needs much less in the way of hardware (although with that rig, hardware requirements really aren't an issue. LOL) Not to mention there is some software that'll run just fine on 2000 that you just cannot get to run on XP. The expansion pack for the game Pharaoh is a good example, it simply will not run on XP no matter what you do.

It is running under an address space created by OS/2 for it. Not everything that runs on Windows will run in it, but most things do. The real trick was to get DirectX to run, which I figured out about 3 years ago, which made life a great deal easier. I basically use the Windows space to run the bot, and when someone wants to run OE or IE.

The issue was the same, getting directx to run :)

I've not yet bought Cedega/Winex since the happy meter flutters for those who have bought it, and I don't at this time have "play money".

I had it running, but getting it to play fullscreen on just one of these monitors proved to be more trouble than it was worth to me. (Dual monitors) Since I need XP around for other stuff anyway, why not just use it for D2 as well. What the hell.
Here's the thread where I asked for and received help installing it.
