Made it to 26 without anyone hostiling me. HC East. The mood is pretty
good, I've encountered only few twits so far.

You won't be hostiled for awhile simply cause most random PKers only target
people much lower level than them. Without rushes and ubergear, they won't
attack you.

Heh, you almost had me.

Also, the trigger-hackers don't have high level GA and hydra yet.  I don't
know yet if trigger-hack has been eliminated.  But certainly the ladder is a
really nice gaming experience so far.

The toughness issue is catching people by surprise I think.  I've got a lvl
22 zon who has seen a LOT of people dying to random monsters.  I started at
lvl 1 with 6 people and only 2 of us made it to (and killed) Andy.  I forget
what killed them all but one died to a quill rat.

Yo dawg, on Wed, 29 Oct 2003 15:58:36 -0500, "Lex" <corra@mac.com>
came 'round looking for action.   Check it:

Well, to be fair, there was chronic lag yesterday as well, which would
have been causing plenty of kills (the one death I had yesterday was
to desync).   I'm surprised tc and I didn't sustain more deaths
yesterday while testing various builds, actually, since we were
spiking something awful.

I agree _very_ strongly.  The tougher game and outrageous lag ):^( are
challenge enough, and it has been _very_ pleasant to play for long
periods in games with strangers and have _no_ hostiles.

DID YOU HEAR THAT, BLIZZARD???

Probably lag.  All my deaths so far have been to lag.  It was
embarrassing to see one of them credited to a Carver.

Well, what we have here is this: when hostiled, you can't use waypoints.
When u go to town when hostiled, all arrows, traps, spells, etc dissapear
(tested about 30 times with hydra sorc, trap sin and zons). Therefore, it
looks like you can only be killed just outside of town because the young
ones that try to PK are not patient enough to come after you
