I decided to delete on of my zons and start her over.....
I dropped ALL her items and all her mercs items.....
I went and got her mule to hold all the stuff and when I got into the game,
before I could pick up ANYTHING
My computer locked up (I think due to the heat) and I had to reboot....
I timed the reboot...took 5 mins and 10 seconds to get back into the game
I bet you can figure out the rest....
though I did get most of her gold, cept the 500k I had dropped when I was
stripping her....
I'm getting to the point of wondering if I wanna play anymore again....

Don't you have a friends list with a few AGD'ers on it? In a situation like
that I (or anyone else here I suspect) would be happy to hold the game/items
for you. I'm in NZ and on USW so the times/realms we play may differ put
please, feel free to put me on your friends list if we're both on the same
realm. Type "/f a *misfitnz0", then repeat for *misfitnz1 although I don't
play 1 much these days. Then to see who's on-line type /f l (where the last
letter is an L) To whisper to anyone who's on line, for instance if I was
first on your friends list you'd type "/w %f1 <message here>", for someone
who was fourth on your list it would start with "/w %f4"
There is absolutely no need to risk good gear when we have this great little
community with people willing to help others.
Mr. van Ham, isn't it about time you posted that list again?
Also, as a hardware man, I'd suggest you open up your computer and, using a
small paint-brush with non-synthetic bristles, remove all the dust from fans
and heatsinks or anywahere it has accumulated.. Do it outside and give it a
good blow-out afterwards. Either that or don't overclock so much. ;-)

I just dusted it within the last month then I made the mistake of deciding
it would look better with the side on it and tucked into the cubbyhole in my
desk where it belongs....when I felt it today after this little mishap the
side of the case was Hot, and it has locked up 3 times in the last 2 days,
also it can't seem to keep a steady connection even though the signal from
the router is 3-4 bars. I have since put it on the floor and taken the side
back off and all these problems have went away so I guess I can blame this
on my own stupidity....btw I don't overclock....would just cause me problems
as Murphy has a thing for my computers, its like a Murphy's law vortex
there....lol

Nam, those desks with cubbyholes have a lot to answer for! I know of at
least one hard drive failure that was directly attributable to being in one
of those things. Not to mention lots of instances of problems with
instability, crashes etc, The only way I'de ever use one is with one or two
mains-powered fans in the back of the cubby-hole. Probably have to switch
them with a relay that plugs into a USB port so you don't forget to switch
them on.

LOL! Nam? I gotta learn to type, or at least proof-read. Obviously that
should have been 'Man,'

And I wished I hadn't written this now. I have this un-natural relationship
with coincidences/telepathy or something similar. For a while now my PC has
been making a bit of noise when I turn it on in the morning. Squealing-type
noise, you know, the sort of noise you get from a fan going bad. It's winter
and I figured it's getting worse due to greater thermal cycling,
expansion/contraction going on.
Well, this morning it was louder and more persistant that usual (it goes
away when the machine warms up) so I quickly took the side off and
momentarilly stopped each fan to see which one it was. I thought worse case
scenario was graphics card fan as it's a fancy looking thing and doesn't
seem easilly replaced without getting a whole after-market heatsink/fan
assembly which I would have trouble affording ATM.
Well, it was worse than that. It doesn't appear to be any of the fans at
all. It seems to be coming from my 80GB, 7,200rpm Seagate hard drive. That's
a real worry as I certainly don't have the money to replace that and I
bought it about 18 months ago just after all the HDD companies (except
Western Digital with it's premium range) dropped the 2+ year warrantee and
implimented a one year warrantee. Now I see that most are offering a five
year period (more realistic IMO).
This is the only machine I have that has a HDD bigger than 20GB, I'm getting
close to panic mode. Copying most of the irreplacable files to another
machine now.
