My Holy Fire Ranger, though fun, is not likely to be any good past a1 hell.
But I REALLY want a kooky Ranger, so...

A Summoner pally.

Using Harmony of course, Might merc and max Fanat. I'll need to stock up on
+skills gear for the Valk, and find some way to get lots of gold for the
revives, or just blow Orts. A Stone armor for the Clay Golem would be nice,
but that takes away a +skill...any ideas on gear or other skills to use?

all these summoned creatures from items work okay in nightmare, but when
you step into hell they just don't last long enough...

Summons from weapons will vanish when you switch, so you're stuck with the
weapon if you want to keep the summon. Also sometimes a Valk from Harmony
will stay with you even after weapon switching..

But I always thought about building a necro with clay golem from Stone and
revives from Harmony. Saves a bunch of skill points and the guys get all
the bonusses from the masteries..

Good luck,

Oliver

Well the Valk only costs mana, and if this build lasts as well as I think it
will, gold won't be an issue.

I've noticed, which is really weird. However, how often am I going to be
switching? A good Harmony is Hell-worthy.

I considered a Necro, but I really wanted the Fanat, and making Beast (I
think) is out of my league.

Metalgrid amulet has Iron Golem charges.
There's a ring that has Druid charges, I can't remember which ring and
which charges at this moment though.

Just like Oliver said, summons from items won't last long in Hell.
Your aura may help them to do some damage, but it won't help with their
life.

Orts are not junks.  I use them to craft with.  It's not too hard to
build a GF character if you find yourself to be in constantly need of
massive amount of gold.  Sorceress should do well with common items,
such as Ali Baba, Wealth, Crown of Thieves, and Goldwrap.

You can throw on a carrion wind ring for the poison creeper. That makes a
great addition to the army. My first char to hell (a strafezon) in the
current ladder wore one till she retired and it went to the rabies wolf.

I'm as open minded as the next guy. What consenting adults do in the privacy
of their own home is their own business. But this is really more information
than I needed.

LOL!

I left my car with my mechanic and went to lunch.
Lunch was a bit messy, as it was warm and the cold stuff melted.
When I got back to the shop the mechanic looked at me and said, "Look like
you've blown a seal".
"No, it's just ice-cream" I replied... how's the car?

Well, thanks to the ever-generous SVH, DavidKoresh the summoner pally was
born. Some quick math suggests that the build will be completed at level 50
with maxed Fanat, mainly since at this point I don't have a sweet clue what
other skills to use. Probably a couple points in Salvation, and I might drop
some in FoH and Holy Shock to give me a mass attack. The Harmony I got was a
perfect +6 Valk, however the ED was in the lowest tier.
The revives and Valk from Harmony, maybe Poison Creeper from Carrion Wind,
possibly even Clay Golem from Stone. Ideally I would have a Metalgrid, and a
Wisp projector, but oh well. I don't see any other way to get a Spirit,
given that HotO is out. The minions will be running with 3 auras for sure
(Might, Fanat, Vigor), I'm thinking of giving the merc a Tomb Reaver
eventually so he can give me some Returned.
