[Chaos Empire] Cow Level Question
|
|
Thread rating: |
Chucky & Janica - 26 May 2005 16:10 GMT Well, Janica's barbarian Kurgan managed to kill off Baal, and is eagerly trying to wrangle some moo cows. Sadly, she can't seem to get Wirt's leg and the tome to transmute. She finished the game, and did all the stuff you'd normally need to do.
We're assuming the mod is different. We're going to try doing the transmute in the Pandemonium Fortress, since there's a waygate to the Cow Level in Hell somewhere.
But if that doesn't work, what are we doing wrong?
Appreciative, as ever, of advice from the wise sages of Diablodom.

ArtDent - 26 May 2005 19:14 GMT And don't forget to touch/activate the wp, it should be right under your feet when you appear in the cow level. Go ahead and kill the king, you can go back as many times/games as you wish once you activate the wp. Also, be prepared, it (cow level) is MUCH bigger and different than it was. More cows too.

He spawned CE and FE when my barb went for the Black Key in Hell. I don't know how FE works in this mod as I've always stayed far away from such critters, so I tried to let my Rogue merc deliver the killing blow. She tried, but couldn't dent the guy. So my barb killed him. The resulting CE and FE death explosion took out 12,000 HPs. Whoa.

Damien. I hate that guy.

Good luck with the Cow level - you'll have a blast with your barb. My barb clicks on a torch, runs and kills and horks, runs and kills and horks. Going back and reviewing the drops after the torch has timed out can take half an hour. :P

Janica's barbarian, Kurgan, tried it out this morning after I dropped a key in the shared stash for her. She's promised to pay for it by horking (I hope I'm using this term correctly) a bunch of potions for me, since I used a lot killing Damien for her.
It's a weird role reversal. I do the dirty work and kill Damien for her giant tough berserker barbarian, using my extremely wimpy-looking amazon with bright purple armour.

If you're on the most recent release, the Black Key comes from the Ancient Diablo... kill Nihlathak, go down 14 levels, find Big Lizard in "The Nasty Place".
Sounds simple...

When we killed Nihlathak, there was nowhere else to go. I don't know what version of the mod we have, unfortunately.
We'll see what happens when we combine Damien's key with ... what was it? I think it's in the readme anyway. I'll have a look.

It can be hard to see, especially with all those bodies laying all over the place after you kill them all, but a hole in the floor opens after Nihlathak dies that leads to 17 levels of dungeons. At least it did in ver 7.51, as far as I know it is still the same. At the bottom there is a Diablo Clone that can drop some nice stuff as well as giving you 5 million exp. for killing him.

(There are other Nasty Places on higher levels but they are not the Nasty Places you're looking for. You can go. Move on.)

I may have to try this. Thanks for the tip.
I just got through killing Damien. Twice. Now why didn't anybody tell me he would be fire immune? Legolassie's immolation arrow is deadly, but her ice arrow thing ... far less so.
Of course, when put up against my wife's double swing, Legolassie is a Damien killing machine.
It only took me an hour and a half. And thirty full restoration potions. And ten lives. And that was just to do him once.
I'm glad we don't have to do that every time we want to eat beef.
