Looking through the archives, I've noticed many claims of Goldstrike
being a viable endgame weapon. You do mean after it's been upgraded,
don't you? At the same time I've seen people suggest that Goldstrike is
not a good choice for upgrading.
My weapon-starved bowazon finally found one, and after the first yay! I
compared the damage to that of the rare matriarchal she was using
before, and.. well.. pretty much meh. Then I tried to kill NM Baal with
it and it took a little less than forever. So how do you manage to
finish Hell with it?

GS is a great bow for those who load up with elemental damage or or
poison charms. It is very very fast, and has the added benefit of being
hell on the undead and demons. It also has an enormous AR bonus. If
upgraded, it is really a nasty weapon, although you need to have the
STR to use it.

What Mickey said 8D I have an up'd GS and I love it. My resists in hell are
all in the negatives and as long as I don't get hit everything dies in my
path.

My only upped goldy is carried by one of my rogue mercs. That being said,
she kills what she shoots at and leaves my tesladin who accompanies her to
do what he does best.
