"Real" save in single player

hi,

is there any mod/hack/cheat to enable a "real" save function in diablo
2 LOD?

I would like to quit at any time and be able to resume to play exactly
where I left. Of course I do not want to get rid of the "traditional"
save and exit, which can help to build xp and get stuff but I would
really like to have a "real" save function.

If you are playing single player, just pause it by hitting esc. Then, if
necessary, you can minimize it and work on whatever you want, and it will
be waiting for you when you get back to it.
If you are talking about online, one word - fuggedaboutit.
