One of the interesting things about having jumped into hardcore with
Kasmir and Caal is that twinking takes on a totally new meaning or
should I say no meaning at all or at best a meaning of utmost
importance. (Make sense out of that!) :)
Most of the stat points are pumped into vitality and this has paid off
in dividends. There are times where my pally did not die, but if he had
100 less life, then his deeds would now be remembered as opposed to
still being carried out.
For example: I never thought that I would actually find such immense
joy in finding an Isenharts armor. Hey make that two! I found one for
my zon also. With strength below 60 the choices of armor were somewhat
(understatement) limited. Those Isenhart's were welcome additions. They
now sit on mules as better gear has been discovered in NM.
So was a scepter with crushing blow. Overall damage was not great but
it sure came in handy against the big cheeses.
My most recent find was also very much welcomed to the weapon hand of
my pally, that being The Sword of Ali Baba with two sockets. Given the
propensity for lacking major uber gear with major uber resists I may
have to go so far as popping resist all jewels into that sucker at some
point. The sword has 54% MF and considering where I am now in HC that
54% MF is a big dividend. Also has 135% extra gold so that will surely
come in handy for gambling cash.
It is so very important to keep this guy alive as he has been finding
nice items to pass down to my friends Kasmir and Caal.
And with my good friend Bongo returning to play some HC with us I am
sure that the goods will get even better for us all and pretty soon our
mules will be overloaded with "mediocre uber" gear, if there is such a
thing.
Bongo, if you read this, I regret to say that last week I lost a Iron
Jang Bong or whatever its called while muling. It might have been nice
for your sorc. I usually mule "important" (heh) items through trade
window using two PCs, but I never considered how important an item like
that could be in the near future so I just dropped it for a mule to
pick up on another PC, yet the game croacked before I could walk to the
other PC and pick it up. Oh well. I do have some sorc ammies. Make sure
you see me if you want one.

Man, I wish my ISP could get it's sh.t together and give me decent latency.
I have a hankering to play a HC character but with 5 second-plus lag spikes
currently I think it would be futile, even for a summoner, I doubt he'd get
to the stage where he had a decent skelly-shield before he died.
On that subject, my ISP just changed it's T&C and now states that it makes
no guarantees about latency but ping times *shouldn't* exceed 1,000ms
_one-way_!!!!! What do you think of that? That's saying that ping times of
two seconds are acceptable but not guaranteed. I'm giving them a few weeks
to get beter or I'm changing. However, here in beautiful NZ we have what is
called a "churn fee" where, if you change ADSL providors, it costs you $100
as well as any other joining fees. Also, my ISP is the cheapest and I can
only just afford ADSL with them. I may have to go back to dial-up. I could
play on dial-up, I'm just not sure if both shady and I can play at the same
time with such a slow connect.
