I'm a Chief Medical Officer Jim, not a Zealot

Began the night at 8 PM EST by myself. I went to the Halls of the Dead
and along with my level 21 Glacial Spike Iron WOlf we laid to waste the
following: 20 skeletons, 8 Electrical Bat, 6 Unravelers (Of which 3
were champions).

RainbowMan joined the game and the two of us went to the Lost City and
foudn the Claw Viper Temple and TeamKaZap joined the game and just as
we found the stairs to level 2 Jack Fwost joined.

Jack was stuck in act 1. KaZap went with Jack to anotehr game to kill
Andy and Rainbow and I went on a Countess run. I am happy to report
that we obtained AMN RAL and THUL rune during excrusion and a nice rare
ring.

Jack and KAZap returned just when we finished and we proceeded to run
srafing fire through the Claw Viper Cellar, the Palce Harem and Cellar
and the Arcane Sanctuary.

I wish to highly commend TeamKaZap for his superior abilites in use of
radar and finding all locations almost immediately thereby no waste of
precious resources and time.

The Evil Warlord Duriel went down in about 10 seconds, obviously no
match for our superior skills. Upon arriving in Kurast, sizzleface
entered the battle area but was unable to obtain transportation to
Kurast.

We returned to the desert in a new game and once again made the same
steps as before, but this time bypassing the palace. KaZap once again
showed his superior abilites with the use of radar and once again the
evil warlord Duriel expired at our hands.

We all headed out into the jungle outside Kurast and shortly obtained
the Relic of the jade Figurine and returned it to headquarters in
Kurast for further study. we were rewarded with a secret elizer that
increased everybody's potential for survival during battle.

RainbowMan died first. It was the only death. I believe it occurred in
the Coutness Tower. I was unable to get into the room where he was in
battle with about 8 archers and a boss. Some of the archers had set up
an ambush at the doorway and would not allow medical help into the
room. The boss also administered a curse called Amplify Damage on all
in the area. I was forced to retreat to a safe location far way to
recall Rainbow to the area. I am proud to say that usinf weapon switch
I was able to take out the boss who had already been damaged very much
by Rainvow prior to his death. Rainbow was able to freeze the crowd
enough to obtain his corpse and lay the rest of them to waste.

I am happy to announce that I am undergoing an internship in the Fist
from the Heavens. Only one more pre-req is required and then I will be
able to begin these bizarres surgical procedures on unsuspecting
minions of Diablo. I was also passed down a Morning Star weapon that
can dish out damage and set off meteors.

We all know you are a Medic not a Memory Stick, so it is understandable to
the following mix-up : I, Rainbow-Man, assisted Jack to kill Andy while you
and KaZap encountered the Countess.

Well fortunately this time I did not write the above report is true to
ther best of my knowledge.

Very well I stand corrected by fellow team member KaZap.

KaZap died first.

The above report is now true to the best of my knowledge.

I'm beginning to get paranoid. I've missed the last two games and both times
asked here for a day's notice so I can organise myself (and Shady) to play.
However, all I see are mission reports. If you guys don't want us to play
just say so FFS! I read this group about twice daily ATM, a little "Hey,
rainbowfeet tomorrow/later today" would be good. Shady's getting tempted to
just play her Tesladin as a normal character, she enjoys playing him so
much. I guess if she misses one more she'll probably twink him and forget
the *team* play.

I meant to make a post up yesterday to remind everyone, but got busy and
didn't get the time. I ended up being late for the game myself.

AFAIK, the games (in my local time) are on Wednesday and Sunday, at 8:00
Eastern, 7:00 Central time.

Ok, thanks. So we've gone back to Sunday?

I am sorry to hear it. And we surely need both of you and Shady for team
work, especially in later act and hell difficulty. So don't just get away
from us now.

I will post the further session in advance, it is still wednesday and sunday
2000 EST.

Right now we are in nm act3, because Doc need an improved iron wolf. So if
you both need any catch up, I or any other can help. I am free on Friday and
Saturday night (EST). So you can ping me then (at the same time slot as past
sessions). My account *apis773 or *apis774

I'm really keen to play but there was talk of disruptions over the 'holiday
period' so I just figured play-times would be posted here in advance.

So it's back to Sunday permanently now?

Thank you. The last thing I did was run to the Lost City WP and pop a TP so
we'd have it for the next game. What WP are you guys at and what clvl? Shady
and I are capable of catching up on our own, both questing and leveling. We
both do lots of damage. I guess we'll just have to drink a few more pots
than we would if we had a medic in attendance.

I tried to whisper you online yesterday to tell you it was on, but battle.net
kept bouncing the messages, so I guess you were afk in the lobby, or
something.

Ok, thanks Stephen. I was online, playing with Kaytie, Frank and Tae amongst
others. Doing hell runs and helping with a NM run, just killing time really.

Damn Bnet!!!

Fellow RainboewTeam Member Misfit,

Please be careful when writing about mishaps such as this for sometimes
these communications are intercepted by miltary personel and passed on
to those higher in command. Despite the recent problems in communiction
keep in mind that the powers that be can only allocate so much for
military tasks, operations and special units such as ours. Since we do
not and cannot afford a Chief Communications Officer the burden is on
all of us and we have to be willing to overlook some the potential
errors that can occur.

Be warned that in the past when mishaps such as this were not solved by
the units themselves, units have been dragged to the most local Supreme
Headquarters and had court martials convened upon the entire unit.
There are well recorded instances of punishments dished out,
fortunately nothing as drastic as executions, but nonetheless
embarrassing to the unit memebers. One unit was given the task of
unclogging the sewers in Lut Gholein and I don't mean unclogging the
sewers of monsters. Another unit was sent to Harrogath and had to clean
the entire town spic-and-span. To make matters worse they were
constantly arguing because none of them were willing to clean the
stains from the area where Nihlathak had his shop set up, (if you catch
my drift) and we all know how sick that guy is. This landed them an
extra duty of swabbing the decks on Meshif's ship.

My understanding is that normal duty time is Wed eve and Sun eve EST
USA. We switched the other Sunday prior to Xmas so that rklemic would
not fall too far behind during his Xmas faimly visit. If you need some
switches I am sure that this entire unit would be more than willing to
go into battle at a different time to accomodate you. We need your
superior military strengths at our avail.
Chief Medical Officer over and out.

Understood. Thanks for the run-down Doc.

Shock_alot and Chill-Bill went ahead and completed Act II last night as it's
rumoured the rest of the team is in Act III. We went form the Lost City WP
and adopted a scorched-earth policy after deciding we needed all the
experience we could muster, it only being a players 2 game. We cleared the
Lost City, snakes and Arcane Sanctuary with little incident. However we both
died later at different times, when clearing all the tombs. Got a few runes
in the Arcane Sanctuary, found a bit of interesting stuff actually but there
is only so much stash space available!! I had to sell an ethereal Kelpie
Snare as I'd already found a Battlebranch for my merc and Shady's has a rare
with life-leech. Kelpie's nice but without leech elsewhere not viable.
Unfortunately stash-space prevented me from keeping it to offer the team.
:-( Several other uniques and nice rares were found, I'm glad I chose the
Ptopaz'ed Tarnhelm as my twink item and have the "durability" to be able to
fit in other MF here and there without compromising survivability *too*
much. (Shady couldn't understand why I gave her some rare gloves I found
with 60 def and 20% IAS and several other mods on them when mine only have
12 def and no IAS. It's because mine have 24% MF. Chances are, I wouldn't
have had the good gloves to give her if I didn't have the MF gloves on
myself)

I very nearly died at one stage, in fact I said to Shady repeatedly "I'm
dead, I'm dead". She had wisely decided not to charge into the room in the
tomb with me. There were a boss pack of electric beetles and *three*, count
'em, *three* unique unravellers!! Obviously there was also around 40-50
skellies (not leechable :-( ) I don't know how, maybe it was an act of god,
but somehow, when the bones had stopped flying, I was still alive, with
about 10% life left and a completely empty belt. The exercise was worth it
however as, there on the ground was a grey dimensional blade. Mumbling "Four
sockets, four sockets" under my breath I checked it out and it did indeed
possess the desired four sockets. I'd previously found two others, one with
one socket and one with three. Some frantic rune swapping and cubing
followed and I was able to swap my Spirit crystal sword for a Spirit
dimensional blade. About double the physical damage on the weapon but,
sadly, only the same durability. I have to repair often. I don't think
zealot's are supposed to use crystal swords and their ilk, they're way too
fragile. It's a shme I didn't find a four socket long sword or broadsword or
something other than a dimensional.

Here's something interesting: I've been looking for a four socketed pally
shield to make Spirit in, hopefully with inherant resists (as Spirit doesn't
give resist fire). The only one I found worthy of note (read: More than 25
defence) is an Akaran Targe, defence 101 with four sockets. No resists on
the shield but here's the interesting bit: It has 34% enhanced damage (and
+73 to attack rating) on it! I don't think I've seen that on a shield
before, enhanced damage. Great, I thought, 34%! That's a big damage boost
and may be worth sacrificing resists for. However, when I equip it my listed
damage only goes up fractionally, from 628-781 to 631-793. That's a bit sad
don't you think? Seems it just adds 34% of the weapon's physical damage, not
my final damage. A dissapointment there. I also found a blue prismatic ammy,
res all +17. I'm not sure wether to sacrifice my MF one for it, probably
not. However, it doesn't take up much space so has been retained. I've also
kept a lowly Rondache in case anyone else wants it for Spirit. It has a
pathetic defence rating of 16 but has the required four sockets and resist
all +19.

As we don't know much about the progress of the rest of the team other than
they are in Act III so decided to get to the Kurast docks and leave it at
that for now. (Might have to do a few countess runs though, need runes!!).
Duriel wasn't that much of a challenge but here's where it gets interesting.
Chill-Bill is clvl 56 and Shock_alot is a little lower I believe. Upon dying
Duriel coughed up a Tal Rasha's Horadric Crest! It has a 66 level
requirement so I'm unable to contemplate using it or giving it to my merc
yet. I found this a bit strange, the only times I've found items with higher
clvl req's than the char before is when the char is *way* above the lvl of
the area. (Like, during mule rushes or when rushing a char through to Act II
to get teh good merc). Now, I'm not complaining, a Tal's hat in an untwinked
game is a real bonus with it's 10% dual leech. I just thought it unusual to
get an item 10 lvls higher than the character who found it. <shrug> Maybe
I've just lead a sheltered life.

So, all-in-all, not a bad run. I managed to improve my equipment a bit (as
did Shady) and we got to Act III so we're (hopefully) around the same place
as the rest of the team. Did you guys venture out from the docks yet? What
is the average clvl of the team? I noticed during game-play earlier that I
seemed to always be a couple of levels higher than others. I'm thinking
that, as we missed out on The Countess/Andy runs that you guys did we may
try a couple of those sometime. I need runes and one two-hour session at
players 2 probably doesn't bring us close to you guys.

Cheers,
--
