Heh, that movie, "Trilogy of Terror", is almost for sure where the idea for
that whole class of characters--flayers, etc.--came from.  :-)

Yea, and I remember that movie scaring the hell out of me. Karan Black
trapped the Stygian in a suitcase and it cut its way out with that huge
damage weapon. It chased her around the room making that act 3
yyyyeyeyyyyyyyyyi sound. I think I remember it coming to life when she put a
magic String of Beads on it. It's no wonder those unique Stygian's take 800
life from me in one hit.

Same here, I saw this movie when I was about 10 years old. It scared
me enough that I "still" remember that suitcase scene, despite not
seeing it for 20+ years.
... did it come to life after she "removed" the beads?

Stu.

That is definitely a possibility.

I also remember Karan Black's character locking herself in the bathroom and
the Fetish crazily jabbing the huge knife under the door and trying to pick
the lock.

Little fast things have always been the scariest for me.

Hmmm, I was thinking more of the Flayers. And yes, "Trilogy of Terror" was
one of my favorite TV horror movies.
The Flayers from Act III are definetely pattern from that doll.
I love the part in the movie when she throws the doll in the tub and he come
crawling out with the kitchen knife in his mouth. Classic!
