I open it with my Sorc, but my Amazon does the killing.

Still just once, I think.

Do you run two versions of the game?

No, just one.

I start a private Battlenet game, go to Act 3 and kill the council (it
takes 5 mins or so for the game to become 'stable', so I have to waste
some time), then go and create the portal.

I exit with my Sorceress, log in with my Amazon, then join the same
game.

Enter the portal and kill, kill, kill.

Usually I send my Sorceress through first, though, yto make sure the
entry point is clear of cows.  If it isn't, I *make* it clear.

Sometimes, if I kill the King very early on, I'll exit and send my
Sorceress back through, as she has a higher MF than my Amazon.

Question...  Why not just run Nightmare Act 1, especially Den of Evil, if
you wanted the Leasther set so bad?  That's your best chance to drop em all.

In fact, "boss" cows have a greater chance to drop Cows King set pieces than
the King himself does.

Running the King for his set pieces was only profitable pre-1.08...  In each
of the last three major patches, ANY monster in the game (of sufficient
level) can drop the Cow King's set pieces.  I've gotten the boots from that
super-unique zombie in the Den of Evil too many times to count.

I was mostly doing it to level up my Amazon, as she was stuck at the
end of Act 2, and needed a boost before trying it again.  And at the
time, the Den was probably a little too tough for my Sorceress to do
runs there.  She's toughened up since, though, so I'll send her back
and see what turns up.

Thanks for the tip.
