Anyone know what the he... is going on with bnet. Past 2 days I have been unable to make any new games. I can join ones in progress. Chat line says that bnet allowing about one game in 20 tries. Dunno if it affects other (Non-ladder/HC/etc) stuff. Tried multiple times last night and got nothing but repeated "failed to join game" results each time I attempted to create a game. Normal/NM/hell all had same results. I *WAS* able to join games without a problem, but mainly what there was were a metric buttload of "stripped" games - with the Cave/Cain/Countess/Andy/summoner/etc all completed by somebody else before I got there. Haven't tried yet today - Might give it a go after lunch. Just bailed out of USWSCL after multiple YCHBIs and FTJGs. Got ONE created hell level game to connect (out of something like 10-12 attempts) but YCHBI-ed out of it about 5 minutes later, maybe a bit less, and it wasn't there when I tried to get back in. Joined multiple already-going games, but most of them were 20+ minutes old and the "usual suspects" had already been mined out. This is sucking... Since then, no existing character on US West has been able to make games with any regularity, regardless of ladder, NL, SC, or HC. They can join games freely, but making is nigh impossible. Oddly, newly created chars can make games with no issue, but any already existing char gets FTJG 90% of the time they try to make. Blizzard has yet to acknowledge anything is wrong, but whatever it was was related to the realm crash of 2 nights ago. > Chemo > > Anyone know what the he... is going on with bnet. Since then, they have been having problems keeping up with the joins/exits of characters. I suspect this has to do with the clone walkers making thousands of games attempting to line up characters on servers before walking the clone. The price of an UN-ID'd anni on west has gone from 35 FG to 150FG since the mass bannings, on from $7.95 to $19.95 on online stores such as www.lewt.com. There's been no problem on East AFAIK, but I'm sure the Dclone walkers are straining resources there, too. The weird thing is that while all this was going on, I could make games but Swan couldn't. And we're on the same IP address, in the same room, sitting next to each other, just separate accounts. He could join my games, but not make his own. I saw him playing earlier, but didn't pay attention so don't know if he managed to make a game with his own character or if he was running around with one of mine. Cheers! Maybe they will stay gone. I think i'm also seeing new wordage in chat windows. such as games of friends being tagged as xxx in gameyyy(passworded). unsynched servers after a repair ? ? > unsynched servers after a repair ? ? ...or maybe something more sinister after the mass-banning of something blizz ignored for years? ...something else to get people to stop playing Diablo2 & other freeplay games on bnet? Query: Try creating new characters and see if they can make, as someone else suggested. It depended on the status the database had your character in. Once you got an FTJG, it seemed it took a LONG time to clear it. It you switch to another char, that one would work. Mickey |
