Yes and No, some have gone to the dark side but things have just generally
quieted down. I think a lot of people are psyching themselves up for D3 and
are trying to get all of their RL issues sorted out ahead of time.

I wont trade to the Dark Side (WoW).... I've seen a guy i know playing it
and it's not my cup of tea.. IMO it's overrated..  I've been doing alot of
offline stuff too.. Moved house. Now am living in country life. Gotta get
stuff on the house working and upto scratch. I commute about 4hours a day on
train 5 days a week for work. I love driving those forklifts.. Amazingly
enough i work for a company that's connected to someone quite famous... You
know the movie "Catch me if you Can".. Leonardo and Tom Hanks. Well i work
for a printing company that is owned by a U.S based company whom "Leonardos
character" works for.

Anyway.. I might go off now and play some D2.. :) Ciao for now and glad to

Yeah, quite a bit of the traffic ended up at alt.games.warcraft. You
*know* that I defected, had to to keep up with the old crowd <G>, but
I still check in on the Diablo groups every day, even if I only play
(usually) once a week, Tuesday mornings while WoW is undergoing server
maintenance. Of course, tomorrow morning, er, *this* morning by now,
there's a slightly more pressing matter that has to be taken care of
;-)

Well, yes, I did actually, but I still play D2 as well, just not really done
anything new lately. My last character is still my 2 handed weapon
pally(charger/zealot), who wields an ebotd warpike and gets 36k charge/15k
zeal(with just his own auras, I've seen 45k/21k with hdin and might merc in
game), and has 1 shotted duelers who had 4k life and 40% DR, but he was made
awhile back. I'm working on a ladder char with a build I've NEVER seen done
before, an auradin/hdin hybrid(I've recently fell in love with hybrid pally
builds), but the hold up is getting my leveling/rushing team
together(they've been fairly busy lately so no time for D2) and amassing the
full selection of gear I want for it.

I didn't go to WoW, but I have been playing an MMO for around 2 and a half years
now.  Heck, I even drove from Southern California to Canada and back a few times
to visit somebody I met in that game.

I know quite a few of us went over to WoW, although some, like me,
still lurk here, but I don't think that's the real reason.

I suspect that a good number of people got fed up with the constant
flame wars here and simply left the NG, especially folks who use
Google Groups that had no way to filter out the profanity.

I noticed a large drop in posts after the most recent flame war and
suspect that people who had to slog their way through the flames in a
attempt to locate some D2 information eventually deemed this NG not
worth it in the end as similar information can always be found
elsewhere on the Internet, without the flame wars.

I'm not on the Dark Side... D2 forever! At least, till D3 comes out. And
I have a rig that can run it. ;) (that'll never happen though. LOL)
