Man, that was such a kick that I wanted to write about it.
I had to leave for work as soon as we were done, and my partner in crime is
not a news group guy, so we didn't even have time for celebration and
self-congratulations.
By the way, is that what they are called, minor ubers?
Nothing minor about them that I could see, lol.
Holy crap, does Lilith heal fast! Maybe they all do, but she was the
toughest for us. We had to come back twice: other guy is a skellimancer, he
had to rebuild the army.
What saved us was that I wasn't able to trade the Laying of Hands gloves.
Yeah, I was trying to. What was I thinking?
So I was looking at the gear to see if I had anything that might help, and
there they were. DOH! Yeah, I'm a little slow in the uptake some times.
No way I could do it alone. My java is just too hybrid. But teaming up with
the minions made it possible.
Boy there are some nasties in those levels. Okies in the furnace especially.
We did not have to face anything else with Duriel, portal opened right on
top of him. What kinds of things can spawn around him?
What a ride. I want to do it again.

Well, congratulations from me then! :)

.. Lesser Ubers, Mini Ubers, etc.

Wait until you get into UT for the first time. ;)

That's because if her very nasty poison cloud attack: without enough
+skills so that Summon Resists is too low, the skeletons take a lot of
damage from that.

No idea. It's 350% ED to Demons is nice, but are you sure that was the
thing that broke her?

So what Javazon attack did you use on Lilith? Also, what equipment did
your partner-in-crime's Necro pack?
>Boy there are some nasties in those levels. Okies in the furnace especially.
OKies are _always_ nasty. ;)

More or less the same stuff you find in the desert-levels of Act 2, but
souped up a bit.

Find 3 x 3 Keys more. ;)

Thank-you kindly.

Even doing the minors was a spur of the moment thing, wondering whether we
were strong enough yet. I know my javazon wouldn't survive UT. I built her
hybrid to be able to solo hell, but it looks like this whole pandemonium
quest puts a lot of emphasis on physical damage. Got started on a pally to
build him to go to UT. Of course, when the javazon hears that he will be
using the parts SHE found to go to Tristram she is gonna go apes**t, lol.
(Yeah I know; I've played this game way too long)

I think it was a combination of that and switching back to Charged Strike
from Lightning Strike. Don't know why I was using LS on her, other than I
thought it was helping with her minions.

See above.
Necro has Enigma, Spiderweb sash, several caster crafts, thats all I know
for sure. N Torch too I guess.

Amen to that. And it is hard to see throught the necro army sometimes. I
have spent a lot of time looking at screenies of the IM animaton.

Have resumed Nilly runs, :o)

Thanks for replying Patrick. Its just one of those things ya gotta tell
someone about.
Now lets hear about your uber adventures.

Yep, Physical Damage, and most importantly, Crushing Blow (or Static,
although that will only take max 50% life off them) are key to defeating
the ubers. However, due to the amount of Physical Immune critters in UT,
elemental damage was apparently not meant to be overlooked. The designer
apparently overlooked Smite combined with Life tap, which allows a Smiter
to hit the ubers, while being swarmed by the PI monsters, and still
survive.

Charged Strike is a very potent boss-killer; I know that from when I made
a Javazon, and used Charged Strike on the end-of-act-bosses: they went
down pretty fast. ;)

Charged Strike.

Actually, I forgot to ask what his Merc was using. A potent merc equipped
with Crushing Blow equipment, is the key to soloing the Mini-Ubers with a
Necro. Lilith is the hardest of the three though.

Yep. Another reason to solo the 'Mini-Ubers' using a Necro.
>Have resumed Nilly runs, :o)
I'll have to start soon; first get a Trapper up to speed. ;)
>Thanks for replying Patrick. Its just one of those things ya gotta tell

No problem, I know the feeling when I first paid the Mini-Ubers a visit,
and when I first entered UT with my inexperienced Smiter.
>Now lets hear about your uber adventures.
No (new) stories yet, and I wasn't planning on recalling the old ones near
the campfire. ;) You can probably find those via Google Groups when
searching this newsgroup BTW.
Ciao,
Patrick.

Congrats!
I took the ride by myself last ladder and lag almost made it
impossible for me. There were moments I was cursing myself for going
alone; but I had to see for myself how hard it was.......it was for
me.
