CymTyr - 12 Jul 2008 18:08 GMT Hey all, just wanted to officially start a thread letting AGD2 know the Cymster is back and ready to party. I'm super hyped about Diablo 3, I reinstalled D2 and I'm playing WoW as well.
I hope you're all doing well, I've been having an eventful past 4 years. To break it down I'll just say that I was diagnosed with schizophrenia, so while I'm not trying to justify my partaking in certain flame wars several years back, I had some issues I was dealing with.
Other than that I've been single, taking my meds, and working towards getting my bachelor's degree as well as hopefully buying a house in a couple years. I just got hired at Gamestop about a month and a half ago, that's going well. I get a 15% discount which is the epitome of awesomeness, though I haven't been buying many games because I still have Crysis, UT3, and NWN 2 sitting around, waiting for me to finish them.
Anyway let me know you're alive, and regardless of whether you remember me or not feel free to add to this thread and just say hi, if the mood suits you.
If you'd like to team up on the playfield I'm currently on Llane server for WoW with the Justus guild alliance side, and my hunter just got moved back to Llane, but he's a horde toon. So he's currently unguilded. Either way, regardless of which side you'd play, you'd have a companion in me.
As far as D2, as I said I reinstalled it. I have a few toons on USEast and I just started a sorcy on West in case anyone wants to team up for old time's sake. Both accounts are named Cymtyr.
Here's hoping you're doing well! I know I am ;) -Cym

No time right now for a long chat, just wanted to add my two cents to your thread.
Still good old US West, *regkinlaw now, some ladder, some non, no HC, mostly young, but a 61 javazon (non ladder) in case you want to rush norm or something.
Hope to see you around the realms.
Kinlaw
PS I was born in Dayton. You anywhere near there?
PPS Be happy to start an East account if that would suit you better.
CymTyr - 12 Jul 2008 23:32 GMT >Welcome back old friend. > [quoted text clipped - 12 lines] > >PPS Be happy to start an East account if that would suit you better. No, I'm up near Cleveland.
As far as D2, it would be easier for me if you were to play on East, that way I only have to worry about 1 account ;) No biggie though, I'm sure we can work something out.

I was mostly in t'other group (but reading this one, I found it a bit confrontational for me back then) and even then mostly lurking back when you were active. I wasn't playing on-line, mainly in these groups for the wealth of knowledge that was freely shared.
It's great to see you back, and ever better to hear that life is being good to you. I used to have problems with depression that have mostly gone away as I've got older and realised that I'm not that important to worry about so much. <g> I have on-going issues with anxiety which I mostly handle by avoiding situations that exacerbate it. That makes me somewhat of a recluse IRL but the alternative, more meds, (Xanax) destroys my short-term memory and leave me feeling like a zombie <"Brains...">
When you mentioned in another thread that you were on Llane I figured that you might have caught up with the old Justus crew. I've never played WoW (other than a couple hours on a mate's account when he insisted I try it out after he'd bought his computer to me to be upgraded). It's not my type of game and I don't like the pay-to-play thing.
Currently I've come full circle and am playing LoD SP, 1.09 with Gemstone 1.5 and PlugY (PlugY is new for me) after playing three ladders on US West with 'the gang'. I'm in New Zealand (but a fair distance fron SvH) so Bnet was a bit of a mission for me. It's good to not have lag and random disconects. Also, I can keep torrenting while I play SP. :-)
Anyway.. Welcome back.
 Signature Shaun.

CymTyr - 13 Jul 2008 14:48 GMT >Hi Cym, > [quoted text clipped - 24 lines] > >Anyway.. Welcome back. Thank you, and thanks for sharing your story with me. Yeah life's funny sometimes, I like to think of the phrase "it's never boring with a shcizophrenic" lol. As far as anxiety I get that too, so I can relate.
I totally relate with you saying AGD2 was a bit confrontational in the past... It seems to have mellowed out a bit these days, at least from what I've seen.
Have a good thanks again for sharing! -Cym

It has a lot since the days when I first joined back when both groups were going strong and the favourite pastime was massive beefathons ;)
Of course, that was back when I played a classic GA/MS Burizazon. Hehehe

CymTyr - 16 Jul 2008 18:31 GMT >Mmmm. Sometimes it's hard to know what's worse, the anxiety or the meds. I >feel distinctly 'blunt' when I'm fully medicated and I'm used to being >sharp. <g> Yeah I have to take medication daily, but usually I only take it when I'm getting ready for bed. It helps me sleep, and if I forget my meds I can always tell because I'm up for several hours tossing and turning.
I take a small dose of the same pill sometimes when I'm feeling anxious, it helps but it's not too sedative. I'm taking risperdol these days, used to be on Zyprexa but that stuff quit working :{
Plus, zyprexa makes you want to do nothing but eat and sleep... I've lost over 15 lbs since I switched meds.
I can understand the zombie effect, and how certain meds are prone to inducing it. My best advice is... well... we have to take our meds... but sometimes if you have a separate pill for anxiety sometimes you might be able to get away without it.
Just breathe, hehe. I know it doesn't always work but sometimes it helps.

All I know is I'm cutting back on my anxiolytics *and* my pain pills as they're really inpacting my intellect.
Some things you just got to take meds for though so you can function reasonably well in society. I for the most part aviod society. <g>
