Alt key is for displaying objects on ground. Am I missing something
here? I play hammerdin a lot and always have hammers on left and
concentration aura on right. If i want to reposition myself, I simply
move the cursor to a point off the object in the direction I want to
go, then hold down shift to attack at the new position. Hammers come
off at about 10:30, so I usually try to get to the lower left of an
enemy. Also being at upper left seems to be a good spot too.

Casting hammers away from enemy is also effective, especially if you
are dealing with a strong melee character you don't actually want to
come in contact with. Let him walk into your hammer field, the retreat
as he gets closer and recast. Faster cast rate is best gear related
skill you can get as it lets more hammers/sec generate. A HOTO
(runeword: Heartof the Oak) is best weapon you can get, but a
Wizardspike knife can be had for 5-6 perfect gems and works well too.
