Not sure if everyone here knows, maybe some of you do, but the Koreans
have been cranking up a lot of free MMORPG's in the past year or two.
Google gpotato, see if any of their games strike your fancy. If you
don't like them, you can also follow the many advertised links to
other free MMORPG's by other companies from gpotato website.
The only one I ever tried was gpotato's Flyff - Fly For Fun. It has a
cutesy anime look, so it's probably directed to younger audiences.
Rappelz looks interesting but my computer won't be able to load that
since my graphics card is ancient. When they say free, it's really
free. There's a cash shop where you can spend real $, but you won't
lose any single aspect of the game if you don't. Items from the real
$ shop are usually timered items that make it more convenient for you
to play the game. Others include items that improve the look on your
toons but do not offer real benefit otherwise (these items are not
timered).
It's worth a shot for those who like (to try) MMORPG but don't want to
spend any moolahs.
