Spicelon - 08 May 2008 05:05 GMT In 1.09 before the Zon got nerfed? I couldn't wait to trade for my duped SOJ's so I could spam the trade channels to trade for one. Is the Buriza even in the game anymore? Been a few years since I played.

Until you hit an LE that was off the screen, lol.
PS: How was the Zon nerfed? I haven't played for a long while either.

I haven't played for a long while either. Interestingly enough, the Zon was one of the chars for whom almost no build was nerfed by 1.10. GA doesn't Pierce any more but Strafe was boosted, Decoy and Valk were boosted, and LF still rocks. The only build that didn't really get a boost was spearazons. Would be nice if Jab and Fend synergised, nay?

Is the Buriza [quoted text clipped - 6 lines] : : PS: How was the Zon nerfed? I haven't played for a long while either. I have a zon that used a Buritto all the the way through in the latest patch. It was a little difficult toward the end but not too much if you are patient. I used multishot as my main attack, although historically I've always been a strafe type of guy. So, they are still viable even without a Harmony or Faith setup. Not having tried those, I can't give any comparisons.
I believe the main nerfing of the zon was to remove the piercing/guided arrow approach to killing single monsters, although they may also have nerfed damage. I'm not sure.

Sorry for my newbness, I stopped playing the weekend (yeah, bad timing) that the 1.10 patch came out. When D2 burnout hits, that's it. I missed the Diablo clone thing too.

Yes, Faith and Harmony are new runewords for bows. I haven't used either one, but Faith is the strongest and harder one to acquire. Harmony is more manageable. I'm not sure of the status of these runewords (if they are ladder only or not) -dave

However, I don't understand one of them:
10% Reanimate As: Returned
What does that mean?

It gives a 10% change to give you a skeleton from a corpse. These are much slower and dumber than necro revives. They are mostly useless.

They take the heat off the Zon by offering alternative targets. Also, with Fanatacism from the Faith bow and Might from the merc they *can* kill monsters in hell (just don't hold your breath).
In summary; It's not a deal-breaker but they do have their uses. They've made things easier for my strafer more than once.
Cheers,

Can you get more than one at a time? It's probably difficult to get many. They don't seem to follow well.

> Can you get more than one at a time? It's probably difficult to get > many. They don't seem to follow well. Sometimes, like on the River of Flame where there are heaps of young maggots, I've seen upwards of a dozen on screen at a time. (They show up woth the Fana aura around their feet.) Usually, with a fast strafer I can have three or four or more at any one time, depending on the area, monster size/strength (kill-speeed).
No, they don't follow well. They do follow though albeit usually too late to be of much good as a mobile army.

Sounds good for this type of character then. I've only ever used this mod by putting a tomb reaver on my merc. It isn't so useful there.

They add to your Merc, Valk and Decoy as alternative targets so you don't get slapped around so much yourself.
> I've only ever used this > mod by putting a tomb reaver on my merc. It isn't so useful there. No, I can see why. Unless of course your merc is killing at the speed of a Faith-equiped Strafer and the playing character is fragile, needing alternative targets to distract monsters.
I particularly like it when I'm strafing across a 'moat' (think River of Flame/Abbadon/Frozen River/Icy Cellar..) or gap (like in the Arcane Sanctuary). I'll strafe but the monsters keep moving around making it hard to hit them. As soon as a dead one turns into a 'returned' they all cluster together to attack it, making it easier to hit them with arrows. Of course, a decoy does the same thing...

Though I haven't fired up this game for more than 2 years, I remember the revives from my sorc's merc's tomb reaver didn't follow upon teleporting, taking TP/WP, or taking stairs.

I was just being conversational. I didn't mean for you to give me every stat.
But I see they have a lot of them.
