Just curious if any Baal runs are planned in the near future.

I'm going to tell you, yes, but I don't know when.  I was around
today but didn't see anybody show up to play.  And I would have
even been a runner if needed.

If anybody is interested in doing Baal runs, just let me know
and I'll get one going again on Saturdays, if we get enough interest.

My interest is always there, but i get off of work 2 hours before the usual
start time and often wander off to take a nap. But I will jump in now and
again when i can keep my eyes open ;)

I am usually on a few hours before the runs Ray; there are also a
couple of guys hanging out too.  If you wnat just look for STRONGFOK-
ONE and We can do a few runs.  I have no "Uber-Killers" but will get
the job done alright.  I am on often throughout the week so feel free
to come knocking and we can either do some MF, Keys, or Baal runs.

What Characters are useful for Baal Runs? I'm currently working on my
Barbarian and heard about this. Are the loot drops pretty good?

Anyone with teleport CAN run baals, hammerdins are common runners, but I've
seen it done by wind druids, trappers, sorcs, necros, and even barbs
occasionally. After that, the only thing that really matters is kill speed.
And since frankly, any half decent team of characters can kill faily
quickly, really ANYTHING *can* be useful. A hammerdin does huge damage
himself and helps out the physical damage dealers of his party. A necro can
help the party with curses then clear mobs with CE. A barb may not be the
fastest killer, but can provide battle orders and shout to increase his
party's durability. A wind druid can kill well, provides a group of minions
to help keep some heat of the party, and drastically boosts everyone's life
with his oak sage. Sorcs can static enemies down to half health in addition
to their own attack spells. Etc. Basically, any character CAN be useful, as
long as the party has a few strong killers and at least 1 fast teleporter.

Useful in a party, not so good if you're planning on doing solo MF baal
runs.

> Are the loot drops pretty good?

They can be, though if you're wanting good loot drops, you may be better
served by doing solo runs.

Not really, we give items that drop to those who need   them. I have
just about every item, and what I don't have, I can always buy. The
only question I have now is whether to run with my 741 MF trappper, or
my 7 frame sorcling. She's only lvl 84, so if I decided to use her, I
may have to ramp her up a few levels in the next 2 days.

A strong bowazon is always useful for artillery support too, especially
if most of the party is melee fighters: she'll be the only one who can
safely engage the dolls and okies ;)

Well, unless she has a torch on, in which case the game will likely be
dropped.

Okies sure, but only one who can engage dolls? Yeah, they're annoying, but I
know none of my meleers(typically pallies and my one javazon who has no
qualms about walking up and using lightning/charged strike) have ever backed
down from engaging them...

Layneberry

In my limited experience, there are no characters that aren't useful
for Baal runs.  And Barbs are helpful to the group for their Warcrys
and tanking, not to mention killing.  As far as drops go, it just
depends on the game seed and who does the killing.  Some of
us have 600+ MF, so if the MF'rs kill, the chances for a gold
item is better.  And in our Baal runs, most items are offered to
the group to see who needs or wants the item.

I will try to make it next weekend. Health and obligations have been a
deterent, but if I can get both to quiesce for a while, I will be
there.
