I read this a while back, is it 100% safe to do?  I found my first
Archon Plate (Cracked) with a 200+ def and repaired in the cube.  Now
I have a regular 500+ def AP.  How many sockets will larzuk punch in?
Is it one lower (three, what I want) or is it the minimum sockets
possible?  There was a post saying that the item goes to level 1 and
will get 3 sockets, since I am "Item-Level, Quality-Level Challenged"
please clarify this for me.  Does it matter what character level takes
the armor to Larzuk?  Or even what difficulty level?  Thank you in
advance for your input.

3.

When you repair an armor (or weapon) using the El/Eld + chippie recipe,
the ilvl (item-level) of the armor (weapon) is reset to 1. This limits the
number of sockets Larzuk punches in, since in regular
(white/grey-ethereal) he always punches the maximum number of possible
sockets in, where limited by the ilvl of the item being socketed. This is
a bit more complex than 'one lower than regular', see the link I give
below.

No, despite urban legend, or what recently some 'noob' in a trade-game
said to me, all Larzuk socket quests in all difficulties are exactly the
same, independent of the clvl of the character using that socket quest.
