So, I fire up the ol' Diabler after getting home from work. Take the ol'
Summoner Necro out for a walk. Go and see Andy, she has nothing to say and
drops even less. Next, I wander over to visit the Countess, she gives me a
couple low runes and sends me on my way. Then i meander thru the 2 levels
of the pit and no one there has anything worth selling to Charsi. So, I
head to a Necromancers favorite spot, the Burial Ground. Blood Raven is as
poor as usual and the Masoleum is vacant of anything good. Then i progress
into the crypt and I run into a pack of skellies who are showing off for
thier golden boss. The skellies all crumble and my skellies start showing
the golden child what real skellies do for fun. After a few seconds of
berating him, he pops and kills LookAt_TheBones. I figure "oh well, must
not have been watching my little red ball." Hit Esc, and spend a few
seconds  contemplating whether or not to go get my body. Head off to
retrieve it, find it with no problems. Put my gear back on and tap the alt
key. Oh my, a golden shako, am I ever glad I didnt decide to just exit the
game and pick up my body in town :)

This would've been a mistake wouldn't it. Good thing that you chose to walk
back and pick your corpse back up. ;-) Death is sometimes acceptable in all
manners.

Just think about how you would never have known otherwise. Makes you
wonder what else you might have missed... :)

Well, almost like your story...

I had a Sorc going last night and lag was so damn bad my merc dies
three times in the tower, as I was about to quit I decided to venture
into the durance and say hello to old Meph.  So, while there, my Merc
died a few more times in the "ante-room" before taking Meph's
minions.  I was about to shut down for the night but decided, what the
hell, I came this far, let me get the gold and identify the blue items
he always drops for me, so down he went.  I had to take a few looks at
the Gilded Shield on the ground before I realized that finally, a HoZ
was waiting for me.  I am glad I waited, but, still looking for that
BER....

Woot!!! Conga rats on the HoZ! One of the few uniques that is still hard to
beat (unless you're swimming in HRs).

Even if you're swimming in HRs an HoZ is still hard to beat.

Hi Ray.... nice find, BTW. Just saw you pop in and out of ye olde mewel
game. I've spent the entire day trying to make some order among the host of
mules. Had no clue I had that many keys on odd mules :)
