When the ladder reset at the end of June, they said it would be reset
again every six months from now on.  Anyone know if that is going to
happen in a week or two?

I thought that was a joke. If it wasn't then i think the purpose of Ladder
playing is pointless. They may aswell make all Ladder Only items Non-Ladder
and scrap ladder.

Isn't the point to see how high you can get in the ranking, or is it
just to get the special items? ;-)

If they reset every six months, then I won't be playing the ladder any
longer.  Six months is not enough time for us regular folks, who don't
play 20 hours a day, 7 days a week, to get enough experience points to
make a good level 90+ character.   Rushes and Baal runs not
withstanding.  If I play 10+ hours a week, I'm doing good.  I think a
reset in the 18 month range might be more appropriate, but that's just
my opinion.

Well, the last one was nearly two years, and that is a little long
IMO.  One year is probably about right.  Six months does seem short.

Agreed, a year is probably the best compromise. Leave it for two years
and you have a similar situation to just before 1.10 came out - realms
infested with hacks, duped, level 99s who gained their exp entirely by
leeching, etc etc.
A year would give enough time for us everyday players to complete a few
builds while at the same time ensuring that you don't get too much of
the noobs/hackers/griefers etc racing up the ladder.

Who said, Roy? Was it on the Arreat Summit, or was it just banter here in
group?

I was pretty sure it was on the Summit, but it's not there now.
