I've never played Diablo/LoD on-line.  Can anyone point me in the right
direction?  Any guides or faq's available?  Thanks in advance.

Tough question, try "create game" to get a feel for what's up. Try "join"
when you are sure how to enter, party up, talk, and look out for yourself.
Don't get discouraged, you'll get the hang of it. Game info is a whole new
experience, try the Blizzard web site and start absorbing the ton of info
that site contains. Specific questions ask the newsgroup, you will get
directions fast enough where to go. Some place there is a list of
abbreviations that you'll want to refer to. Good Luck!!!

You are in for a crap load of fun once you get the hang of the lingo
(i.e. "pp" - means Party please, etc) Just like real life, there are
lots of great folks you will meet and lots of scumbags. Once you
gather some good folks on your "friend's list" it will make learning a
bit easier.

I've been playing Diablo for several years and continue to learn stuff
all the time. This user group is a great source of info. Most folks
here are on USWest realm. I would start with "ladder" since you can
craft better items than  "non-ladder", but it really doesn't matter as
far as difficulty.

Best advice I can give you is "never, ever tell another player your
password unless you want to lose all your stuff." The second rule of
mine is " if a deal is too good to be true, it usually is." But  then
again, I've been given great items for free for nothing in return.

Have fun, if you decide to join USWest, let me know your character
name and time you will be online and I will try to give you a hand.
