Groan... For those who don't want to visit this disgusting page, here's the summary.

Version 8.5 Has been released!! We can keep this PB proof forever, only by changing a
few things which takes less than 30 seconds! New features added are FULL ESP for health
kits / ammo kits / mines / supply crates / grenades / and also veichles (heli, plane and
land) ALSO INCLUDE ALL THE FEATURES OF BEFORE!

Works on Demo AND Retail with all patches (including 1.02) To answer a VERY common
question, Version 9 does NOT use the tatnium base hook, nor do we add ANY PB Disabling
methods. The worst you will ever get from PB is a 2 minute kick. (If they ever detect
it, Going on 3 months of undetection :) ) Hack Features are: Wallhack, Chameleon Skins,
Nosky, NoFog, Enemy Mine/Claymore ESP, NoGrass, NoWater, Colored Veichles+Planes and
Much MUCH more.

It will be nice when someone figures out a way to prevent this crap. Note the nice
spelling of 'vehicles' above.

It is without doubt, the gayest thing on the internet.

Like all games you will get cheaters, it's down to a good clan to run a
good server and kick the buggers. There is only so much a software
vendor can do, ultimately it is down to the players to police the game
play. It has been true since the earliest online games, find a well run
server with a nice bunch of people. Play there regular, get known, have
fun. Leave the cheater to the un-policed servers, it's the simplest way
to find a good clan.

Yep, ^^^ w.h.s.

However, I'd love to see some concrete tips on spotting cheaters.  It's
very easy to suspect the guy with 40 kills and no deaths (and I have to
confess, I've kicked on suspicion alone more than once), but how can you
*prove* anything?  Does requesting PB screenshots from the console work?
Is there a good tutorial on doing this?

there's several different ways to help you catch cheaters. a little
logical thought will help a lot, as will a bit of deductive reasoning.

this example is for bf1942 admins (when it was more popular), but can
lead you to ideas for BF2:

open a second server for "berlin only" and get a few of your friends
to join you. within a 1/2 hour or so, more people will join. do this
for a couple days and you'll fill up in no time.

set this server up to allow "freecam", which means when you've died
the first time, if you dont spawn back in and hit "close" on the spawn
window, you can travel around the map while you're dead, watching
people. let one of your friends do this, someone with half a brain.
preferably in teamspeak, etc. this will allow him to look for
glitchers and look down to watch and see if people start shooting
BEFORE they go around a corner, a good hint that someone is using a
radar hack. also, you can look over the shoulder of snipers, see if
they're using a "no fog" hack by looking for yourself, can you see
your own players from his position through the fog?

"aim assists" are one of the hardest to catch as there's really no way
to tell if someone is "that good" or not. the best way to catch these
guys is to once again follow them around  in freecam and take a screen
shot of them while they're running. this will also show their minimap.
if they're running and/or jumping and the screenshot doesn't show a
very wide spread on the crosshairs, chances are they're using one of
the aim assists. you may need to modify your screenshot entry in the
pbsv.cfg to center it near the crosshair area. remember to move this
back to the minimap area so you can check for radar hacks. also, don't
forget, don't take more than one screenshot every 2 minutes or so or
you may interupt the previous screenshot from being completed.

i haven't seen this cheat but perhaps it's really out there: if
someone is suspected of using an "unlimited ammo" cheat (again, i've
never seen one), it would be very easy to check this. kill them and
pick up their pack, if it's not showing that they've used ammo,
chances are, they're using a cheat that gives them ammo. like i said,
i've never seen this cheat and only guessing at the way this one
works.

there's a few ideas to go with. none of these have i seen written down
anywhere. some of which, good admins will take for granted and may
"assume" everyone knows this. some of the ideas, including the "second
server" is from my work in computer security and setting up "honey
pot" servers to catch would-be hackers. i could have a berlin or el
alamein server running right now, where i harvest cheater's keyhashes
and add them to the ban list of the servers i admin... who knows :-)

That would indicate stupid coding on the server. The server should know how
much ammo you have and veto attempts to use more than you actually have.
The client-side prediction might show the shot fired, but the server would
then veto it and the victim would still be alive.

Ah, this presupposes we've got a dedicated server - we haven't :(

Freecam seems a good idea, I suppose with the advent of BF2's
commander it's less of an issue if people get to see lots while dead.

Good tips, thanks.

The instant headshots should be spottable though - I've heard of hacks
that allow a shot to be fired the moment the cursor runs over an
opponent's head.

Well, we're on a server that uses ClanForge, and the screenie
request/review mechanism is long-winded as it is :(

Thanks for all that, there's not nearly enough in the way of practical
real-world techniques out there right now.

in BF2 or BF1942?

In BF1942, I live by one-shot-kills, as an engineer using a k98, no4,
garand or type5. it's the most deadly small arms weapon in the game,
within a set of guidelines: 1) don't let your opponent get too close,
if he does, learn to run around a corner and expack him. 2) learn to
aim for the head, one shot, one kill.

'42, to be fair, but I'd have to assume it's been carried forward.

Hey, that's exactly how I used to play engineer - best class in '42 by
a country mile, and vastly more accurate than *any* gun in BF2
(sadly).

Who do you think posted it? It wasn't a 'complaint' as it might've
seemed but rather a troll. Simply acquire the guys nick and/or IP and
put them in your ban lists.....You can even troll through their forums
and acquire info on all the posters and do the same to them...

Yep. I just acquired 92 names from that site to ban permanently from my
clan's server. Ha! What a bunch of losers. -- Borked

Borked, what's your server? I'm always looking to play with guys on

Not one person will acquire a hack from this thread. It's much easier
to google 'BF2 hack' and just go to the first three hits, then it is
find it through Usenet.

Besides they're a pay site.

Thanks Eric, as an aspiring hax0r I like all the cheats I can find. You

Makes me feel SOOO much better to know that others SUCK so bad that they
need to cheat to get a few points. And that they are so desperate to do it,
that they post about it in this NG.
NOOBS.

cheaters still have to work a lot to get the points, but they can ruin the
game for everyone else. So, the fact that they make points faster than
others is not interesting, but the fact that they ruin it for us is
terrible.

I've seen just about every cheat that's come across for BF1942. I've
tried each and every one to see how they work. I've logged into
servers such as Cookies and Oreos (Berlin only) and tried out the
cheats in conjunction with my above average skill level and I can
honestly tell you, the radar hack for instance, slows me down when
trying to play. I would rather rely on my abilities, because I am not
glancing at the minimap nearly as much when I don't try the cheats
out.

Sure, the aim-helpers bring down the spread of your fire, which is a
big advantage to those that cannot use a medic-gun properly... but for
an engineer player such as myself, these cheats do nothing for me, as
I can straffe-one-shot you at distance with or without this type of
cheat (the no4, k98 doesn't "spread" the cross-hairs when running and
jumping like the medic gun does).

I think started this thread just it the hack would be found out.

take your stinking hack and shove it.

screenshot proves that haxxors have no taste and no sense,
who would willingly play a game looking that bad.
DOH, learn some skills and enjoy the full game.
gaming is all about give and take, I die no big deal.
respawn and learn (maybe).
