...While 'some' games do look acceptable, most look like PS2 games and ARE of the kiddy variety.  Even you Nintendo payrollees cannot deny that.  So much for them trying to change their image.  People who refuse to change get left behind.  Do you think that someone who wants a 360 or PS3 will want a system with Sponge Bob Square Pants, Avatar, Cars, DBZ and a whole host of other kiddy games?  I know I don't.  The main reason is that kiddy games do not have to have mind-blowing graphics, just colorful graphics.  At one time I was actually considering the Wii, but now that they have been exposed as a game company that does not change and insists upon hitting the public with the same sh.t, who needs them?  Please, don't talk about that control - who NEEDS that?

Don't care whether they look kiddy or not, the most fun I have is with a new Mario adventure.

Matt from IGN said after playing Mario Galaxy that, although it sounds cheesy, he is now a "believer" after having some hands-on action with the controller.  He was skeptical but stated that it really is intuitive and a lot of fun.

Why don't you wait like everyone else before concluding the situation?  I'll get a Wii, if I dont' like it I'll switch consoles, but judging by reactions from both insiders and the public I don't think that'll happen anytime soon..

Aside from the old time graphics, if the controller is just a fad which is likely, then the system's graphics cannot hold it through 5 years.  Especially when the other two's graphics will no doubt get even better.

Right, so they *change* the controller to something COMPLETELY new &
different, but that doesn't count and thus they'll get left behind?

Almost everything I've seen of the PS3 & 360 is a sequel, but with
"better" graphics, and that *is* change?

Yes things need to change, and they are. All 3 next(current?)-gen
consoles offer something new. You have to decide which kind of new you
want to play with.

Let's not talk about the same old Zelda, Mario, Metroid, Donkey Kong, etc
games that Nintendo keeps killing us with.  I mean, Zelda is like the same
damn game over and over again.

Proof that you haven't played all Zeldas there then....

You might know better if you had played any of them.

I have.  Every game starts off the same.  No weapons, powers, maps and so
on.  You go get your sword, shield and more power.  Now I am not saying that
any of these games are bad games, just the same sh.t.  Nintendo used to take
risks, now they are afraid.

What have Sony/MS changed about the PS2 and PS3, the 360?

Nintendo are taking risks with the Wii, I don't see much value in taking
risks with franchise that continue to sell, and yes, continue to wow people
with every iteration.

And this is different from any RPG/ActionRPG in what way?  I would say that
roughly 100% of the games in Zelda's genre work this way, are you saying
they are all identical?

I am talking about Zelda - nothing else.  Clearly you are not denying that
they are the same.

What about the Dragon Quest, Final Fantasy, etc.  Do they not have the
same type of plots/game progression in each of their sequels?  If you want
to break it down, racing simulators are like Zelda.  You start with a
basic car, win races, earn money to buy upgrades, etc.

They have stories that differ enough to make them unique.  They also have
something that Zelda does not - new lead characters!  It's one thing to do
more or less the same thing with different characters, but to keep doing it
with the SAME one is not very creative.  Nintendo needs to get a new twist
on this Zelda thing, not just making Link do sh.t that he did not do before
or make it look better.  This is why Nintendo fails.  I cannot wait to see
public reaction to the Wii.
