Hey!  What are you doing back here again?

I was posting as John Fontaine, but, when I posted this, I
inadvertantly typed in my real name instead of the fake one; I mean, my
real "fake" name, not my real name. Only idiots use their real names.

I own it, along with Custer's Revenge.  Both complete in the box.  And,
no...I didn't buy them "back in the day" as I was 16 at the time and
preferred Asteroids and Frogger to pixilated sex.  If I wanted to see boobs,
I'd just sneak a peek at Playboy or Penthouse down at the 7-11.

One nanosecond of envy; duly noted.

Do they still have all those ROM downloads for sharing somewhere for
those old arcade games available from somewhere? I used to have about a
million of these games (Asteroids, Joust, Centipede, Frogger, etc.)
that I downloaded one time on my old PC, but, they won't run on the new
XP Pro box and this PowerBook, forgetabouit. Clues for the clueless?

Apparently:

Although I played the Atari 2600 some when it was out, and was envious
of my friend who had one, the games don't make me feel anything but
pathetic now.  I still play the games you mentioned, but in their arcade
forms.

The ROM games application I'm talking about, that I had on my old PC
was way cool. It would even simulate the sound of the arcade machine
when you'd drop the quarter in (back in the day, we used real
money...heh). And, the screen would display an exact simulation of the
arcade game; however, unlike the arcade game, you could scroll through
about a thousand of those games that came out between 1977 - 1989 or
so.... my all time favorite is Lunar Lander. I could really make a big
crater at first when I landed, but, then, I managed to be able to land
it and everybody piled out of the spaceship with utter glee, etc. and I
got my 5 dollars reward, or whatever the rsfck it was.

If anyone knows where I can find something like this for XP Pro or
PowerBook Mac, I would really appreciate a link or whatever.

What makes ME feel pathetic is that I'm only on level 4 (normal) in the
PS2 game Black and I've been playing it for about 4 hours each
weekeend. It's a fun game, but, it takes way to long to get from save
point to save point and my attention span ain't what it used to be so I
end up getting to a checkpoint and pulling the plug before I get to the
end of a level. One guy on here made a point about this, and said to
milk it for all that it's worth because it's too short.

Anyone played it on the advanced (hard) level. Any strange and wierd
things that are not on other levels in Black?

Why is a mushroom called mushroom? As usual, "Mercellus Bohren"
<mercellusb@yahoo.com> got it all completely wrong and wrote:

It wasn't MAME, was it?

Thanks.... it was the original MAME stuff I had, but, all the ROMs had
this front-end wrapper that was more game oriented; instead of the
actual MAME objective (which I am not opposed to, but I just want the
gaming stuff). Anyway, I think I've found a version of what I'm looking
for, for the mac OS X that I'm going to try out.
