no, Microsoft and Nintendo are not exactly teaming up - they're not
doing a joint MS-Ninty console together - they're not exactly
supporting each other.
however, they both, very ovbiously, have a commen enemy, Sony
Microsoft's Peter Moore gave a presentation called (and this is a
mouthful):
"The Elite 8: Eight Ways to Confront Elitism and Open Doors for Our
Industry"

Nintendo Wii is very much apart of it.
Xbox 360 is my armor, and is my shield, The Wii is my sword.

However, if the PS3 somehow proves a success, the tables turn.

You mean the same slide that has Guitar Hero, the EyeToy and Singstar?
Saying that Nintendo is a part of it but Sony wasn't is very
misleading.

(still haven't seen an EyeToy game that doesn't suck though...)

Rumour had it that there were discussions between Microsoft and Nintendo
regarding Nintendo using Microsoft's XNA framework. Nothing came of it,
but Microsoft left the door open and also had a cheeky stab at Sony
saying that they were welcome to come and discuss XNA at any time...
It wouldn't surprise me if there was some collusion between MS and the
big N in the future if the Wii fails to be the success that Nintendo are
hoping for.
The poster that said that Microsoft would shoot for Nintendo if Sony
were out of the way is possibly misguided. Why should Microsoft have any
ill-feeling towards Nintendo if Nintendo were to license the XNA
technology? It would be a win-win scenario for them. Nintendo would bear
all the expense of producing their hardware, while Microsoft would get a
nice big wedge of money from the software licensing. A bit like the PC
world if you think about it... It's what Microsoft knows best.
