I can't get past the boost ball gaurdian. I've read several FAQs, read the
instructions on how to get past him, and I just can't do it. Is this an
impossibly difficult point in the game? What is the secret to getting past
him?

Don't go to morph ball mode until he actually is turning into a boost ball
himself. If you morph too early you will waste opportunities to shoot at him.

In morph mode, I found it useful to run around the circumference of the room,
so as to maximize the distance needed for the guardian ram into me. This gives
me more time to dodge.

Of course, do not waste any opportunities to get health.

Speaking of health, if you can trick the Guardian into ramming any of the four pillars in
the room, do so -- the Guardian will destroy the pillar, leaving an Ultra Energy Unit
behind, which will refill one Energy Tank.
