Is this game any good for just a single player?  I'm not interested in the
GBA link or anything...but if it is anywhere near as good as LTTP for the
SNES, I'm interested. :)

I don't think it is as good as LTTP, but I really enjoyed the one
player version.  I still haven't tried the multiplayer version.  You
have to keep in mind that this isn't a typical Zelda game though.
It's 24 independent levels that feel like the 2d dungeons in LTTP.
Many of them have the same light/dark world concept.  However, you
don't get to keep stuff between level, so if you gain hearts or
weapons in one level, you still start out with only 3 hearts and no
weapons in the next level.  There are a couple of annoying things such
as the fact taht you can only hold one weapon, so sometimes you need
to backtrack to get a different weapon if you have the wrong weapon
for a puzzle.  Overall, I really liked it and feel it was worth it
just for the single player.

Hope that helps,

Vin

How big are the levels. How long would a single one take to complete?

The only thing stronger than hope is despair.

I don't remember exactly, but probably about 30-45 minutes a level.
It took me quite a while to finish the game.  I think IGN estimate
15-20 hours for the game and I think I was in that range to finish the
24 levels.

That, and the fact that you have to replay the level if you don't
collect enough Force Gems (2000) to energize the Four Sword before you
reach Vaati's barrier at the end of each level. (This actually happened
to me during my first run-through of the single-player game.)

I liked it, too. It'd be interesting to try the game out in multiplayer
mode, but I only recently got a second controller (a Platinum Wavebird),
so.... <^^;;;;

Wow, I never had that happen.  I typically was way over the 2000
before I reached the end of a level.

You know that you need multiple gameboys for the multiplayer, not just
multiple GC controllers, right?  I've got a couple of friends with
GBAs, but haven't had the chance to have them bring over the GBAs and
link cables and try out the multiplayer.

What happened in my case was that I got smacked around too much and lost
too many Force Gems before I reached the end of the level. (If you get
hit forcefully enough, you lose Force Gems, and if you don't pick them
up right away, they'll fade away.) There's also a shady "fortune teller"
in Kakariko Village who'll offer to tell you a "fortune" if you fork
over 100 Force Gems; if you give him the Gems, he'll say something about
a "fool and his money are soon parted" or somesuch -- at which point
he'll take ALL of your Force Gems! (I fell victim to this charlatan in
my first runthrough [ARRGH!!!], but was able to gather enough Force Gems
afterward to power up the Four Sword.)

</me smacks forehead for forgetting about the GBA requirement for
multiplayer>

In my case, it isn't the equipment -- I have a GBA, an SP and two GBA/GC
link cables (one of which came with Four Swords). It's finding *people*
to play the game with. <^^;;;
