Hi group

Suddenly I can't acces a memorycard where I have saved how far I have
travelled in my different games.
The Gamecube requires formatting, but if I do that all information is lost.

Does anyone have a tip to what I could do, not to loose the contents of the
memory-card?

Regards from Denmark

No, sorry, as far as i know there is no trick to restore the content of a
corrupted memory card.

But memory card problems are discussed quite often in newsgroups.

There a two ways to be on the safe side:

1. use an original nintendo brand
2. have at least one backup of every important game safe.

datel is working on a device to transfer data from a special
memory card via usb to a pc. so one original card and this
new device will be enough in the future :O)

I have a few of those USB memory cards for GameCube, and they work well.
However, what someone REALLY needs to invent is a USB drive that accepts
original GameCube memory cards.  I have protected games started a long time ago
on original Nintendo memory cards for games like Animal Crossing and Phantasy
Star Online Episode I and II, and I would like to be able to back those up
somehow.

Yeah, I agree. Remember the Dexdrive for the N64. Would be neat if it were
to be released for the GameCube too. Would help you out big ;)

Hello Thomas,

there is no possibility to solve your problem. Format your memory card!

I'm constantly having that problem for my card with PSO data in it.  It
works eventuall if i keep reinserting the card over and over...  If it
happens to have PSO on it you can try erasing the guild card file.
