acually, i heard that this is kind of possible. i think it has something to
do with the same principle of mixing colors. there are certain combos of
scents that, when spraid together, would smell like anything! very much
like the 3 primary colors, where just the right amounts of different colors
can make any color in the world. i hear they're testing this idea out with
movies...

Dear God, please never let there be a "Blazing Saddles: The Scented
Edition".

I think the major limiting factor on something like smell-o-vision would
be producing the smells (or simulating them) with something that doesn't
require actual chemicals that could dry up or run out over time. Short
of sticking a chip in people's brains (which I understand is being
experiemnted with) I don't think you could do it with electrical
signals. I could be wrong of course, an expert I am not.

How about this:

Scented email. Could be applied to games too.

Yes I imagine it would work with games too. This is what I was thinking
of when I said something that required actual chemicals. Absolutely it
would work, although you'd have to refill it every so often.

I can imagine that is the case. One of the compounds is probably the smell
of protein or something, and a couple of other things. Cool!
