Why not GC or NGC? You're free to call it the "GC", you're obviously not restricted by the official patent model number when referring to it. Where'd you get GCN from? The Gamecube model ID is indeed DOL for both the console and the games themselves. (Wasn't it the Gamecube that was once called the Dolphin?) Here's what I do, just call it GC for Gamcube. GCN is OK but since GC is unique there is no need for it. Its probably just a carry over from the N's previous consoles, ie NES, SNES, N64, where Nintendo is part of the name of the system. Does any one refer to XBox as MSXB or Dreamcast as SDC, or for that matter Gameboy as NGB? No. Just omit the N, its dumb, even if Nintendo uses that abbreviation, they even dumber. |
