I did a search and I see that there may be a VGA adapter for the GC, but
I didnt see it available on a few sites I looked at.

Anyone know where they might be carried?

A VGA adapter should work with all systems I saw one advertised at best buy a
few weeks back for $50.

Ahh, thats a bit steep for me, I'll just move my second TV. I was hoping
they would be around $15 like me DC adapter.

That's actually on the cheap side.  My wife's ViewSonic N4 was $100,
although it came with all cables, both video and audio, plus the remote
control, etc.

When you consider that VGA specs are -nothing- like NTSC specs, it's just
not going to happen for $15.  There's a lot of processing to handle
resolution differences alone.  It's just not like converting composite to
RF or something equally easy.

I got a multi-purpose VGA box thing for ?40 that accepts composhite, S-video
or component sources and upscans them, (and does it very well bar some
colour issues at boundaries of contrasting colours) but that's still a bit
on the expensive side. It makes me wish Sony, Microsoft and Nintendo
would've taken Sega's lead and incorporated VGA support into the unit
itself. A lot of DC titles have potential to be MUCH sharper and more
defined than Gamecube titles due to the fact that the DC has VGA support
built-in. (All the various VGA boxes do is give you a way to hook up
speakers and a VGA source. Someone managed to add a VGA socket and RCA audio
sockets to his DC without any expensive circuitry, proving that the DC had
it all built-in) I mean, Sony I can understand because I wouldn't expect
them to incorporate something so useful into their heap of suck, but I
expected better of Microsuck and Nintendo.

The VGA games on the DC are very nice :)

So if I end up getting some sort of  multi-purpose VGA box, I can use it
for other systems and not just the GC? If so, that sounds like a better
deal. Link would be handy also :D

You answered your own question with "multi-purpose".  Yes.  The ViewSonic
N4 takes any composite video and audio.  My wife has her DVD/VCR on it.
The Cube happens to run throught the inputs on -that-.  You could just as
easily put a PS2 or whatever through the N4.

Check Best Buy's site.  That's where we got the N4.

I've heard people say there's an N6.  No idea what the differences are, as
the N4 does pretty much everything one needs.  Maybe it takes multiple
input types or something.  I'd have to look.
