I've recently gotten into collecting all these ROM files specifically
the GBA ones. My question here is not so much as a newbie, but more so
as trying to conform to the general DAT file usage. I've seen about a
dozen apps claiming to be the "right" source for finding out about
having a complete set of ROMs. Sooo basically I'm curious to find out
which DAT file MOST (or ALL) the posters/users use to find out what's
missing compared to what they have? And yes I've tried most if not all
of the Renamers/ROM CRC checkers out there... just need to know which
DAT file you are all using. Thanks...

I'm not familiar with DAT files, so can't help you there.
These days GBA ROMs are the easiest to find, mIRC a good example.

Actually, none. I buy my games. Why don't you try that?
