Yes, I searched gamefaq and the web 1st before posting here   =P

After beating Mecha-Ridley, is there a way to get back to Zebes?  I tried,
but the obvious way is blocked by an indestructible wall.

Also, if you go to the far right area "outside" the pirate ship there's a
spot that's blocked by rocks (overhead). I tried to get up there, but
couldn't figure it out. Hmm

After beating the Mother Brain, you mean?

There's a glass tunnel connecting the pirate ship to the Chozo ruins.  Power
bomb.

Oh wait, ya... Mecha-Ridley, my bad :)

No, after you beat him, game over.  You can go back before though.  You're
still on Zebes...

I mean off the ship, back to norfair, etc.

I tried it *after* I beat mecha-ridley and the door was blocked.
I never bothered to try it before the final fight.

obviously there is a way...cause throughout the game, you need your gravity
suit to walk through secret lava areas...duno why they did that...when your
that far into the game, why would you want to go searching for energy tanks
and super missles and power bombs.  you got 1 boss left, no point

For 100% items, of course :)

They made it a nice challenge to find and then figure out how to get certain
power-ups.

Ok, I found the way. It was sorta hidden, but not too hard to find.
