Everyone has been making disparaging remarks regarding the Virtual Boy...
comparing this new DS thingy (who's only fault, in my opinion, is that it
WILL, without a doubt, be confused with a new GBA) to the Virtual Boy as yet
another Nintendo Follie.

Yesterday, just for the heck of it, I pulled out the old Virtual Boy ( I
have 7 of the 13-15 released games) and aside from the fact that the left
speaker is dead and the right screen has weird lines in it... it really IS
3D and the games take good advantage of it... I think that if Nintendo WERE
to release a Virtual Boy today (make it a table top system that comes with a
DC adapter and do it in acctual freaking colour) it would be an awsome
system... BUT YOU STUPID BACKWARDS THINKERS WOULD BE KILL IT WITH YOUR
STUPID GOSSIP... america was afraid of home video games after Atari released
the 7800 and practically bankrupted... and again you are afraid... I give
everything Nintendo tries the benefit of the doubt... even if it does sound
stupid... why? because the Virtual Boy isn't a curiosity on my self... it's
an awsome system that I only stopped playing because the screen stopped
working properly and Nintendo wouldn't fix it for me because YOU HAD KILLED
IT...

Chill dude.

I got a little antsy when *they* killed the DC and Microsloth bought
Bungie and Rare, but... aw, what the hell - go nuts! F**king stupid
consumers! You couldn't tell an innovative product from a bowl of limp
noodles if you were beaten over the head with the cool product and
slapped with each individual noodle till you screamed for forgiveness
and begged to be released from the bonds of your self-imposed boredom
and herd mentality. SHEEP! You're all sheep! You probable use MSOE and
screw up others' sigs and top post and write in HTML!!!... SHEEP!!!

If you're not part of the solution, you're part of the precipitate.

Hey... I use OE too... but that's because it's a work computer and Mozilla's
Newsreader sucks... but otherwise I agree...  I'll let people yell at
Nintendo over the DS until we see what it is because it could be a mistake
that kills them... I bet people would cry foul if they released a keyboard
and Typing of the Dead too...

I never made any comments about the Virtual Boy - It wasn't even releasd in the
UK.

Hmmm... And how long did it take for these problems to emerge?

it really IS 3D and the games take good advantage of it... I

Er yes. That's assuming that every gamesplayer in the world also reads/posts to
Usenet, which they don't. Personally, I like the idea of a desktop games system,
but with no fancy gimmicks like two screens, but with a proper joystick, eight
buttons and a kick-a.s conversion of Street Fighter 2, but unfortunately that
will never happen, so I'll stick with MAME and SSFT2TR on the GBA.

Again, you're assuming that every consumer reads Usenet. Nintendo has released
vague information on a concept which is open to a lot of interpretation. For
starters, the screens will be mounted vertically, so that rules out any
pseudo-3D effect that the Virtual Boy used. This isn't really a new concept -
Arcade machines have used dual screens for years (especially Nintendo's own
arcade hardware in the eighties) - It's down to the software developers to come
up with games that make real use of this, rather than what will probably
happen - action on one screen, map/stats on the other.

System Problems showed up about 2 years after purchase... and I think a
semi-portable (rather then pocket) system would be great if sold as such...

And I know that not everyone uses usenet... when griping I refer to all
those who b'zatch about new things... but then again I don't like new things
very much either... basically I was more defending the Virtual Boy as a
concept then the acctual specific design of the thing... neither was I
saying that the DS will be 3D... just comparing it as a "Inovative"
concept...

That or I don't know what I'm talking about..
