I sure wish Nintendo would hurry up 'n release that Internet Channel
with the Opera Browser.

December 23, 2006 is a reported release day for Europe.

It's slightly disturbing that it doesn't appear to be in widescreen.
You'd have thought nintendo would've set it up for widescreen before
demonstrating it on a widescreen tv, if the option is there.

Good point - that's very strange.  The video also does not show how one
types (URLs and forms).   Presumably, there's some keyboard overlay
that can be brought up and pointed at.  I hope that the browser also
remembers favorites, as typing is going to be painful...

Forget typing....
constantly holding that controller up in the air will be excruciating.

You will never beat the computer... for web access.

The computer will always be the best for web access... but you don't
have to hold the controllers up in the air, resting your hand on your
leg and slightly tilting the remote to point at the screen works
equally well if not better, and is not really any more tiring than
using a mouse.

Actually... using the thumb on the arrows to constantly move the mouse
around and click other buttons would be a lot more strenuous than using
a mouse...... but the good news is you can rest your arm on your leg...
as long as your wrist holds the controller toward the unit.

lol

I agree that the Wii won't beat using a computer, but it may be
convenient for some to be able to browse from the comfort of their
couch, rather than what other dingy hole they keep their computer in.

One thought occurs to me... has anyone heard of any plans for a
keyboard for the Wii?   Perhaps one that plugs into the Wiimote?

I saw a keyboard for the gamecube the other day, would that work with
browsing on the wii?

I've turned to pointer off while playing Zelda, I wonder if it can turned
off while browsing?  Just use the control on the nunchuk to move around?
