I got 4 cartridges for my 6 yr old boy for some time now. He complained that
some of theg games wont do levels saving. One unique thing about these
cheaper version of mass production games csrtridges is that they usually
contain more than one game, with a lot more others like the 80s arcade type
games added. Is it due to the read/write capability of the memory inside the
cartridges or more to do with the games itself?

Cheap games from East Asia area tended to be pirated games made with
crap parts.  Save function rarely works if at all.  Unfortunately not
much you can do about it except not to buy any unlicensed product from
China, it could be inferior counterfiet.

http://tinyurl.com/yyb69k a link to eBay about the inferior pirated
games.
