even though it's not the greatest handheld browser, it's the only one
for  Nintendo that I know of, at least until the Wii comes out with
Opera built-in.

Unless I'm much mistaken, the Wii is not a handheld as you imply here.
Also this video can't tell much so how can you know if it's not the
greatest? Which one do you think is the best handheld browser? Anyone
wanting real facts can go to http://expressreviews.googlepages.com

can't find a DS Opera review on this site.

As for handheld browsing, PPC Netfront is vastly superior as you would
expect on a 600mhz Axim.

well going a bit OT. I prefer Netfront.

It seems to handle java based sites much better, and is highly
configurable. Speed wise, there doesn't appear to be much in it. I also
didn't like the fact that when I installed Opera on my SD card, it still
dumped 2mb of files into my precious main memory. Setup options seem a bit
more basic than Netfront as well.

and this is why kids with mental issues should be looked after and not
allowed to run amok on internet newsgroups.

Once you get around the broken spelling and poor grammar, it actually looks
like he's offering to give you an STD. He obviously fancies the pants off
you, but do you like him enough to accept it from him? :-)

I'm a great believer in natural selection. If this is how this guy uses time
that could be better spent in his "life outside of this sh.t" then he
obviously isn't likely to breed.

Be thankful for small mercies, and the fact that he won't be around to
bother your kids :-)

dunny you are a complete moron, i do this because i am trying to help
you people. you come here criticising me and my ways, and dont stop to
think of the reprecussions. i also struggle to see what the f.ck any of
this sh.t has to do with natural selection. are you familiar with
anything at all charles darwin studied? it would appear not. i am sure
that you think that you are a lot more intelligent than you are, and
spend all your time searching stupid internet forums in order to
downgrade and belittle people whom you believe you are more intelligent
than. not this time arsehole. if i were you i would spend a little bit
less time pulling on your cock and a little bit more time researching
the subjects you believe yourself to be an expert on.

no hard feelings mate,
just get a girl and stop pulling yourself 8-10 times a day and you
should be fine.

social life AICMFP.

good one arsehole, actually i am under 20 not at all overweight and
lead a very active social life. you are a complete moron. i posted most
of this sh.t on the way to one of the numerous parties that i have
attened recently with one of my mates. this was just designed for a
joke and you dickheads have taken it so seriously. you have no idea how
funny it is for us to read the stuff that you have posted. i am also a
very active person, i play footy in the winter and cricket in the
summer. i also go out frequently. when was the last time that you left
your dingy little bedroom and went outside. i bet its to late for you
to try now, the sunlight would be such a shock to your system. it would
probably burn you to death.

you also failed to explain what in the hell anything that you or i have
posted has to do with natural selection?? please elaborate on your
prior statement.

again no hard feelings, i understand that chronic masturbation has had
an adverse affect on your brain. its no longer your fault. but maybe if
you left your cock alone every once in a while.....

love your mate out here,
XOXOXOXOXO

Your attitude in here reflects your ability to communicate with others in
real life. Hence, you're unlikely to get laid as you're a rather hateful
person. Therefore, you're unlikely to breed.

Summing up, your attitude is what is going to remove you from the gene pool.
And that's natural selection.

HTH.

You mean JavaScript? I thought Netfront sucked at that. At least
compared to other browsers. Most tests I've seen give Netfront thumbs
down on page rendering.

From my personal experiance on Pocketpc, Netfront 3.3 has proved more
capable at rendering sites than those visted on Pocket Opera or IE. Just
a personal view. Tied together with the VGA screen of the Axim, and
handheld browsing is great.

For example. I have a Nabaztag which I use an webbased app to send
messages to. Works fine in Netfront, always errors in Opera.

Infact, I can't remember a site that Netfront hasn't displayed correctly.

As I said, from a memory point of view, where internal memory is at a
premium, I didn't like that despite Opera being installed on a CF card,
it still stuck 2mb of files on my internal memory ! Netfront appears to
be more configurable, for instance, setting where the cache should be
stored. Opera also forgets proxy setting when they are unticked. Very
annoying if you are using the browser at work through a proxy, then when
you get home, you aren't.

Maybe there are some hidden configs in Opera, that I'm not using, but
Netfront displays a fairly detailed and easy to use config screen.

Oh and if you try and run Netfront directly after running Opera, the
PocketPC crashes and needs a reset.

Its all personal opinion, but Netfront does it for me, and judging the
the reviews (and getting back to the original posting), I'll stay well
clear on the DS browser.

No, it's the person writing the sentence who doesn't understand how to
use the English language correctly. The main problem is that he was
trying to say two different things at the same time. Firstly that it's
not the greatest handheld browser available, and secondly that it is the
only browser from Nintendo until the Wii is released. The English
language is a tool which can be used correctly or incorrectly. As the
saying goes, a bad workman always blames his tools.

A hit counter is a bit of a useless way to gauge popularity, it only
takes a glance to realise something's not worth bothering with.

>No, it's the person writing the sentence who doesn't understand how to

alt.usage.english is over <-- there somewhere, but my take is that
English is such a carelessly structured language with so much
definition-overloading that it's easier to imply or infer an
unintended meaning - or several - than any other language I know of.

This feature makes it great fun for pun cascades, but downright
irritating for diplomacy or law. In French, for example, legal
documents are _easier_ to read than informal prose.

Heh. Usenet (via google groups) on a DS would be amusing, must try
that if I ever get hold of the browser.

I didn't say Wii was a handheld, and, I didn't mean to imply that it
was.  I typed out that post in a few seconds, didn't really bother to
check spelling, grammer or the way it would read.

I meant, the DS Opera browser is the only browser for a Nintendo
machine until the Wii comes out.
