Hi, I have been looking into buying a GBA SP from ebay but there are a
couple saying that their unit are 15% brighter than the rest out there. Dose
anyone have some insight to these brighter units?

Buy a DS Lite instead.  I've owned a GBA with Afterburner, two SP's and
a DS.  The DS Lite seems about a billion times brighter than any of
them.  It's really amazing, and none of the others even come close...

I just got the second edition sp and i have found that in most instances
the brighter setting is just too bright.

Earlier this year Nintendo quietly revised the SP to have the same
bright screen as the new DS Lite. It is a true backlight and much better
than the original side-lit SP.
