Yep, Pit is Kid Icarus. I thought so. http://www.progressiveboink.com/archive/kidicarus.htm It might just be a nod from Nintendo, to old NES fans. From time to time somebody asks about a new Kid Icarus game, and I think the answer is always that it wasn't a popular enough franchise to reinvent. Miyamoto has said recently that he would be interested in making a new version of the game.
