I haven't used it in about months and it worked fine then.  It is now
working intermitantly.  I'll install the cart and it will get the Gameboy
logo the thats as far as it will get. Sometimes the Nintendo logo will be
below it but the fonts will be corrupted. Other times it works fine.  Im
leaning towards something being dirty but how do you clean it.

Any ideas?

Hold the cart up to your mouth and blow in to the end which you put in the
gameboy. It removes the dust.

Dust may not be the problem here. If you leave the contacts on the GBA's
connector -- or those on a GBA cart (or any Game Boy game cart, for that
matter) -- exposed to air for quite some time, the surface will oxidize
and form an insulating barrier that will prevent the game cart fom being
properly read. This is why Nintendo advises that GBA owners should keep
a game cart plugged into the GBA (and the GBP) when the device is not in
use.

If you can find it, get Nintendo's Game Boy Cleaning Kit (I still have
mine from when I had my original Game Boy ten years ago). Works just as
well with the GBA. Nintendo also sells a cleaning wand kit for $3.00
through their online shop.

HTH. HAND. :)
