I dunno what the pay is like over in the states, but if you worked 8
hours a day for 5 days a week at $5/hour, yeah, you'd get paid (over)
$10k a year

If you were on minimum wage (by UK standards), you'd get $7.55 an hour
if you're over 18, and $5.33/hour if 16+, so at 18, you'd only have to
work 5 hours a day! Hell at 22 that goes down to 4:20hr coz you get
$8.98 an hour.
