GTR< Screen pausing

I bought GTR for my dad so we could do some racing, but, it keeps pausing
like a FPS problem but, the FPS stay in the 30's and 40's..range. Can't
figure it out.

P4. 2.53ghz
1gig ram
Ti -4600 256meg card

any ideas?

forum.rscnet.org has a whole slew of fixes for pausing issues.
Have you eliminated the obvious, like background processes, tunred off
replay/MOTEC recording, etc?  Does it relate to weather settings at
all?
