All,
I just spent the last 2 hours trying to figure out why the car was
overheating (well over 240 degree's oil and water) after only 3 laps with
the same tape settings I had before.
I started dropping them. From 55, to 50, to 40, to 30, wth ????
I then discovered something...
The "Invulnerability" setting in the settings menu (which I use when setting
up setups) ? It's dead, Jim.
It does not appear to function. Here I was chasing a setup, wondering what
the hell was going on, when the whole time my car was getting more and more
beat up, completely changing the rules.
There was NO visible indicators of this damage.
When I exited out of the track and came back in (thus getting a fresh car),
everything was back to normal.
Don't waste 2 hours like I did. If you hit the wall, you need to exit out
and start the race over or all your setup development will be out the
window.
Damn them!
This much we know now. Damage certainly makes a difference. A BIG
difference! My temp problems started after I smacked a car hard in the rear
on entry, thus smashing my grill in. I had no idea.
The pit board shows no damage as well.

Oh, another thing...
I had mentioned that turning up the FF increased the centering spring as
well and thus just created a stiffer wheel without increasing the effects.
It turns out that NSR actually honors the Centering Spring setting in the
MSFFW Control Panel (NR2003 does not). I never thought to check that since
it was a waste of time with NR2003.
The default is HIGH. I set it to low and now I can crank up the FF effects
in NSR and actually feel them without needing arnold schwartzenegger to help
me turn the wheel :)

weird, that is how nr3 has acted to me, where 02 &4 did not... in 03 I have
even had to alt tab out and select profiles ( I had 4 copies just for this)
so that the centering off, as in the profile would be allowed in 03. Never
had this problem in 02 though so damned if I know.

And you got on me for what *you* thought was a post slamming you.
Hypocrisy is a good thing, eh ?
