I had to really fart around to get Brands67 to perform on my system and
I finally did it but now when I exit GPL the system hangs and I get a
page fault in RASTOGL.DLL and the win98 desktop has switched from
1024/768 to 800x600.

I can go back in to GPL afterwards just fine.

I've got a Gforce 4200ti (43.?? drivers) I went up to 61.xx drivers at
one point but removed them with nvclean.

Any ideas?

Thanks,

Art.

I guess you are saying gpl only crashes with this track?

It's not unusual for an add-on to cause a CTD but if gpl crashes as you
try to exit that suggests you may have some read-only or corrupt ini
file (possibly the track.ini for Brands) since gpl updates your best
laps etc when you exit.

Try deleting the track (delete the folder, then remove it's entry from
your season.ini etc & correct the number of tracks) and re-install. Have
a look to see if there is a patch for that track, and search RSC to see
if anyone else has had the same problem.

If all else fails try applying the voodoo fix (most tracks offer one).
It'll reduce the texture size so it won't look as pretty but it's
usually a guaranteed fix-all for add-on tracks.

I didn't realise it was only that track until our league went to
Silverstone.   The voodoo patch won't work on a gforce board.

The d3d worked but it looked like crap (usually it's the other way
round).  There are threads upon threads of patches in rsc for this
track.  The solution is I guess to never go back to brands67...

As a last resort try mailing Paul Jackson or ask for help on RSC. The
Voodoo patch just lowers the resolution & colour depth of the textures,
it should work on any graphics card in OpenGL or D3D. Obviously GLide
only works on a 3dfx card ;-)

Aren't page faults memory related errors?Try backing off your RAM memory
timing maybe.I get this problem sometimes in Win XP and GPL, but then, my
system is overclocked so i sorta expect it.
