Hmm. Went to the site. Turned off immediately, too much flash and video.
Calls Rookies "Newbies" right there in the menu, and that link takes them to
a place that is just wacked. Talking about how Ratings and LPI are your
measure against the racing world. First you slam them by calling them
newbies, then you tell them that their ratings and LPI will get them far.
Nothing could be farther from the truth.
Real caring leagues either use IP or aren't concerned about the numbers as
long as you are solid and an asset to their league. This comes off to me as
just a notch above the leagues that demand you have broadband to race with
them. All too elitest for most folks if I had to guess.
Have to make one or both races, arm bending to make you show for a formal
practice session, um. Bad juju.
Good luck with your 'good old boys' league. That's what it sounds like, I
pity the rookies that try to fit in over there.

I think the ratings system(as it stands now) sucks. Ratings don't measure your
'racecraft', for a lack of a better word. At one time I had an LPI of over
200, but all my ratings were zero. I might have an LPI of 1000, but it
wouldn't matter if I couldn't occasionally finish ahead of enough drivers to
gain ratings points. If I ran more pickup races and kept the car running
somehow, I'd have a higher rating simply because most people there drop out
after they crash. My LPI would be lower because with more incidents happening,
you have a higher chance of being involved.
But with a higher rating, you can get in the more 'elite'(that's not intended
as an insult) servers. I think there needs to somehow be a better balance of
finishing position to LPI...

SimRacer,
Notice the 'Newbies' section is for 1st timers. Not everyone knows the
way the ratings work (messed up system to be sure!) Better to let them
know what is expected of them right away. Saves alot of headaches for
everyone involved IMO.
Practice sessions are good for people like me who struggle with setups.
There are a couple setup guru's that help those who need it.
This is just a fun league that has mostly average drivers and a couple
fast guys:-) Everyone has a chance to win if they drive smart and have
a little luck. Hell even I won an IROC race! Yes RASCAR guys believe it
or not! LOL
Try it once, you can always quit if you don't agree.
